Awesome video! That HAD to be tough breaking all that trail, especially in snow that deep. I've done that loop in summer both directions, now hope I can finally get it done in winter this year. Thanks for the effort in your videos.

I have only done a day hike on mount Washington. So easy. It was the Ammonoosuc Revine trail up to the Lakes of the Clouds hut. Lunch there and then to the top. Guys were packing empty propane cylinders to the top in wood framed packs. My little jaunt was a piece of cake compared to what those guys endured. From the hut to the top is a scramble on the Rock Pile.

I did that mountain from Pinkam Notch AMC. It was going to be 101s deg f in Boston that day. We started early just after dawn. By the time we got 2/3's the way it was fogged over with winds gusting to 80 mph. Tough stepping from rock to rock in that wind. Also fogg was freezing. Lucky we brought goretex shells and winter gloves, hats, etc. No wondere so many die up there even in the summer

Look at Mount Colden via satellite. Then look at where the selfie slide is. Take the lake Arnold Trail, all the way to the drainage closest to the slide and then just jump off trail and climb the drainage to the slide. Do you follow me on Strava or AllTrails?

@ you actually taught me something so I am grateful for your message. When searching for it in the past, I saw those letters and I never knew what the heck it meant. The first time I ordered it it was solid and the second time I ordered it it was stretchy and I did not like the stretchy stuff so I pretty much threw it out.

This was information from the person who wrote the guidebook. He lives in Lake Placid. Significant ice formation is expected in the TD, and the slides will likely have a substantial amount of verglas. It’s not about snow. And it doesn’t matter if it was 60° for one day. Temperatures are in the 20s for the Lowe’s.
