I climbed this a few years ago - I live close to the ADK mountains. It was def an experience.

Holy crap, that camera angle at 13:23... my jaw just dropped. The way the camera is looking straight down at the two of you guys, looking like ants climbing up... that's just incredible! I know cameras never capture steepness with the same level of awe and terror as the way it looks in person, so I can only imagine how much adrenaline you got from setting the camera and then climbing DOWN from that spot so you could get the footage of climbing past. That... is freaking awesome. 👏👏

Awesome video! Thanks for all of the great content you put up. I've been doing some research on this slide to possibly do it next year. Your video sure has some great footage in it. Thank for all of the extra work to double climb most of that!

Hell yeah man. You have no Flippin idea how much work it takes to put some of these together. Lol and yup pretty much Climbing The Slides twice for the footage and camera staging. Trying to capture them as beautifully as I possibly can.

Look at Mount Colden via satellite. Then look at where the selfie slide is. Take the lake Arnold Trail, all the way to the drainage closest to the slide and then just jump off trail and climb the drainage to the slide. Do you follow me on Strava or AllTrails?

The waterfall scrambling near the bottom and the herd path at the top both remind me of the T25s in the Great Gulf. How does the headwall of the Southeast Slide compare in steepness to, for example, the headwall of the Great Gulf or the climb up Six Husbands Trail?
@BrianHikesAllDay2 жыл бұрын
There’s not even a comparison. Southeast Slide makes them all look and feel tame and easy

Unfortunately it’s going to be quite some time before I ever decide to go to the whites for slides. They’re just too far from home for a weekend trips. Adirondacks are pushing about the farthest I will drive for a weekend

Thanks so much! Some slides I could definitely see the need for a helmet but not on one like this where it’s literally a slide with no loose rubble to kick down. I also have rules when I’m climbing slides with other people. No one below another person Climbing to avoid any rocks being rolled down into somebody else

I wore my helmet there this past weekend. Brian, you say this is harder than the Airplaine slide on Wright ? I have that one to do maybe next.
