Love this demo! Ive had this one of these forever and it still blow me aqua every time I play it. Probably my most used pedal. Just picked up a Gain Changer this week too and I think, somehow, it just as good
@chrisdelanyguitarist3 күн бұрын
I would love to pick up the game changer! Barber had a period where they weren’t making pedals around covid and freaked me out that they were out of business. I have the older big box version of the direct drive too
@alw13402 күн бұрын
@ oh that was a bad time! Kind of forgot about that. I’d kind of want to pick up an older version myself and I’d highly recommend a Gain Changer… or a Burn Unit… all his drives are good haha

That sounded angelic and beautiful! Can you describe the entire rig you used for this? What effects did you use?
@chrisdelanyguitarist19 күн бұрын
I believe I was using the Meris Mercury X for reverb and a Strymon El Capistan for some tape delay also using a original effects Cali76 for compression running stereo into a Divided by 13 FTR 37 amp and Fender Deluxe Reverb amp. Both amps were mic’d with a sm57 and one of the amps also had a Royer 121 ribbon mic going into an API 3124 mic preamp into protools. I’m also using a Tom Anderson Drop Top Classic guitar with Suhr Mike Landau single coil pickups and Suhr Thornbuckers in the bridge although I was using the single coils for this video.

Hahah, Guthrie is on unreachable level :) I really think he's N1

Definitely is! I’ve seen him live and it’s just unreal!!

I love the part where Larry leads a seemingly "sour" note into the next chord where it is resolved. Larry is a "genius" guitar player. I now name him as being my favorite guitarist. ❤

Acoustic guitar is not a genre😮

Yeah maybe not.. his music can be difficult to categorize at times so I just said acoustic

These transcripts are really amazing. Great job. Hope you do Resolution from the same show/album at some point. It's one of my favorites from Andy Timmons, and I haven't bee anble to find a decent transcription for that yet

I personally hate his slide ornamentation thing
@chrisdelanyguitaristАй бұрын
A lot of people love it and attribute that technique to him. A lot of bass players do vibrato that way too. I personally don’t incorporate that type of vibrato much but that’s probably just because I need to practice it. But I can see why you wouldn’t like it.

Wow! Slowing this down I can start to see what he's doing, but it just boggles the mind to imagine someone doing this improv especially at this speed. He's truly from another planet. Also, great transcription!

Thanks for this. One of my favorite parts of this performance from Julian is that, despite the intro being obviously incredible, he ends it so delicately and hands it over to scott in such a way that the audience FORGETS TO CLAP. Musicianship, man.

Pedals are silly. Just plug your guitar into a full stack.

Just plug your guitar into a 100 watt head with a full stack. You don’t need pedals.

Awesome rig! Would echo what some others have said - you're clipping. The digital effects aren't the cause, they just amplify and extend the problem. Might be as simple as reducing the preamp gain going into your DAW. Way too nice of a rig to hamstring your sound with digital clipping!

Definitely will watch that next time. Thanks for the advice!
