There is no support for OSL shaders in Vantage yet, maybe in the future they will implement it. But for now you can use the box method with FBX files that are included with our free scene. Hi, I was trying it out but hit an issue. When i open the test scene with OSLs, it works just fine BUT as soon as i try to copy the parallax/ merge it to another scene, it stops working properly - the scale gets off and also the movement inside the space isn´t right. Any idea why or what to do with it? I´m using 3DS Max 2024 + Corona.

Sounds like the issue when viewing parallax from back side, try to flip the poligon. If still error, please send us email.

Please find the folder name "Level", and then click on the file there, this is a new regulation by Unreal to put the scene file inside Level folder.

There is more info in the guide, you can download it here: faq.wparallax.com/ There are three ways to use wparallax maps in blender, basically, OSL method doesn't work well, then there is Kitops plugin method, and the 3rd way is just to use FBX box instead of an osl plane. Hope this helps.

@@jeremygullotto3192 you can convert the EXR files on your own to work in Unreal, like in this tutorial: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHyyoGqclNygfqM So you don't have to buy the unreal version from the store. It will take some time until it will be available on unreal marketplace, about a month or so.

@@jeremygullotto3192 yes its a bit of delay, because of the new unreal version, not sure if it will work smoothly in 5.4 yet, the epic store is checking, if its all good, then will try to convert sooner. But yes, if you plan to only use it in Unreal and not in 3ds max then please wait some time, hopefully 3-4 weeks :)

yes the box can be used with any render engine in c4d, but the parallax shader on a plane only works with octane renderer.

Hi, we have detailed explanation in the free scene file (inside INFO folder) how to setup with Blender Cycles, unfortunately, the OSL script in Blender doesn't have load button for EXR file and the process is very tedious to load each map manually typing the path... We contacted the Blender Foundation last year, but so far no reply. You can also use other methods in blender, such as KITOPS or just simple BOX, that is also included in free scene.

for me, even the new version of parallax shaders crashes randomly but inexorably. it is totally unusable in production because it is far too unstable. I tested them on max 2022, 2023 and 2024 with corona 9 without success..

Did you test with the latest OSL (v1_10)? The main cause for the issue was multimaps setup, after the new setup, it is now more stable. Unfortunately, the problem might still be with OSL or the new Corona 9 or Vray 6 versions. It is hard to pinpoint exact problem, but for most people it works fine with new setup. We provided BOX versions as an alternative if you still experience the problem.

@@wParallax yes I tested the new version, only the "box" versions work... impossible to use the OSL version serenely. It was the same result with different machines whether in 3DSmax 22,23 and 24 with corona 9... the crashes happen suddenly and randomly and even faster when using the slate material
