When you use fine stranded wires in the PTFIX blocks, always release the springs with the push in button before you insert the wire.
@prosaldozwiler425711 сағат бұрын
@mrtnsnp11 сағат бұрын
For stranded wire some ferrules are highly recommended.
@gabor.nadudvari10 сағат бұрын
Those connectors have spring clamps, so it is better not to use ferrules there. But yes it is required on the DC converter with screw terminals.

That is a FANTASTIC wagon, love it! :D One suggestion... if you are willing to play with the electronics... I would suggest adding a sensor so it knows if it is moving or not (could just be a magnet on one of the wheels with a detector), and if it doesn't move for more than a couple of seconds, it turns the motor down to zero so as not to overscrub when stationary, or waste the battery. Just an idea. Either way, that wagon is great, and I'm totally going to do something similar when I get to build my garden railway <3
@summitrailway8 күн бұрын
Thank´s for your suggestion! Wasting battery is not a problem, with the makita battery it can run basically indefinet at least for my needs. On the other hand overscrubbing is a problem that can occur if you are not careful. After the first test which you can see in this video I changed the order of events - first start the loco, then start the cleaning wagon and then don´t stop as long as you can prevent it. That works good for me altough your idea would make it way easier to handle!

@summitrailway8 күн бұрын
Moin!

This is a question to my friend, at that day I was guest only and brought one single locomotive to this event. But usually it means go to work and work your butt of, then spend as much money as possible for your hobby and do it over and over again for the next 10 years. Suddenly you wake up and have something like this in your garden...

Looks really great. Signals add real life to a layout and the feeling that there is a control system at work. People like watching the colors change and then the trains reacting and starting or stopping on cue. Your wiring is a real model for organization which I am keenly following as I set up my system. Thanks for sharing. Will you have a computer system like Train Commander or STP to run or freelance?

Thank you! I will run ESTWGJ on a dedicated pc. The singnal box should come together until February 2025, at least thats the goal.

Brother, when will this work of yours be completed? brother when will you run the train across this side?
@summitrailway21 күн бұрын
Hey Brother, it will take me until spring 2025 to finish up the existing part of the layout. After that I am going to expand the layout, this will take another couple of years... Many videos to come. Trains could run any time at this point if I got time to run them... I am planning to run some trains in the next couple of weeks and for sure in December! Once the first part of the layout is finished there will be way more train operations!
