Very neat. I'm sure glad you know where all the wires have to go. 😄

This goes under the category of "confident appearance when completely clueless" 😂 But seriosly, I do have a good plan and try to make it work that way. So far so good...

This is exactly what I've always wanted to see in a video: how to actually go from paper plan to real outdoors connections and wiring. Really clear and nicely done. I see that on the lower bank of connectors there are lots of three wire connections (the ones with the yellow wire) are those for blocks or track, or something else, like turnouts? How do you know from one end to the other which wire is for what? have you marked them somehow? Will the power supply and booster stay in the garage, and then feed power out to the signal box? Thanks for making these. So helpful. Looking forward to the next one.

Hi! The three wire cables are for the shunting signals. One common, one is white light and the other one is red light. I have sorted the cables in a bank of switches, main signals, shunting signals and main power supply for lights and other stuff. Each bank is seperated by grey clamping pieces. This was easy to do since each type has it´s unique cable. The wires of each individual cable have nubers as well so I made sure that I always start by 1 and work my way up. To figure out which cabel goes to which consumer I will simply use a multimeter and measure continuity as I go along. During this process I will also mark each cable for easy maintenance later on. The Power supply and the central station as well as the booster unit and the secondary digital central station for the signal box will stay in the garage so they are well protectet from the elements. At least thats the plan :) Thank you for your interest and stay tuned for the next step!

I wonder if you could do solar or wind turbines for a little extra juice to your system. I love garden railroads. On mine, I will build a bar and call it Beer Garden Railway.
@summitrailway6 ай бұрын
We do have solar on the property, no extra installation needed. You can serve your bar with drinks by train, that would be awesome :)

@summitrailway6 ай бұрын
Moin!

Have you considered having any steam locomotives on your railway? Just wondered because if its not your preference then that's great just thought to ask. Hope your having a good start to your weekend!
@summitrailway6 ай бұрын
I do have electric steam locomotives which will run on my layout for sure but I am certain you mean live steam. I do not plan on purchasing a live steam locomotive at this point. Neither of my friends have on too so there is a slim chance to see live staam on my layout in the near future...
@MHSPshadow20136 ай бұрын
@@summitrailway because proper steam engines would be a little too expensive haha I look forward to seeing it all being finished. But no live stream would be too expensive like you’ve said haha which I don’t blame you
