Do you have a full video of the Cube engine removal. Mine has 298,000 (approximately) miles on it and today it blew up, lol. Something broke as oil came pouring out of it and lost all power. It has had 3 transmissions already put in it. I’m looking at trying to source either a complete with trans or maybe even a swap for something else. Thanks

I don't, it was a fairly labor intensive job with lots of parts to remove and install. It would have been a very boring video to cover it all.
@mythumbs112 күн бұрын
Boring yes, long even more yes. lol I am just trying to decide if this is something I want to try to tackle myself. Been also looking to see if there has been any kinda engine swaps to get rid of the CVT. I do appreciate your response.

What size jets work best? My VM24 came with 30 pilot and 120 main installed, and I have all the sizes above and below both, but can’t find the right combo. Mostly the problem is instant bogging and frequently stalling as soon as you crack the throttle.
@JBAutomotive794Ай бұрын
Different bikes will like different jet combinations due to altitude and other mods such as exhaust and airbox configurations. The "clip height" is also an important adjustment with this style carb as well. It controls how "quickly" the main jet fueling comes on compared to the idle circuit. There is no accelerator pump on this carb, which 4 strokes like. You may have to jet on the rich side to compensate for this design if you want off idle snappyness
@f308gtb1977Ай бұрын
@@JBAutomotive794 thanks for the quick reply! Yeah I have tried almost all the jets and every clip height with no luck. Thanks again!

@f308gtb1977 make sure your spark plug isn't fouled and gapped correctly. Also make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks.
@f308gtb1977Ай бұрын
@@JBAutomotive794 the VM I got doesn’t have a vacuum port, and the plug looks perfect according to all the charts. I did like you said today and jetted it almost as rich as I have jets for, and raised the needle to the next-to-highest setting, it helped a fair bit with the bogging, not perfect but less severe, only now it idles WAY high and can’t be adjusted lower. So that’s probably why it bogs less. But it’s a little more rideable so … if it’s the best I can get then I’ll live with it. Thanks again!

Nice catch! I just did timing chains on a 2009 that I bought not running. Got done, fired it up, ran great. Five minutes later, lost power, died. Very hard starting, sometimes ran slowly. Not developing high fuel pressure. Swapped out high pressure pump, no change. Checked a whole LOT of other things, no luck. Started searching the net for info, found your video. Smacked myself in the head (twice) for not thinking of plugged exhaust. Pulled the front O2, it started and ran just fine. Now to pull all the cats and inspect. Thanks for the inspiration!
