Very occasionally. But it's been a couple years since I've had a chance to take the kayak out unfortunately... Business and being a dad have really absorbed most of my free time lately. But soon! I am starting to get the itch bad! Lol!

Murray Cooper cool. How did your trip go? I hadn't had a chance to get out this year yet. Crazy busy at my shop.
@murraycooper11947 жыл бұрын
Went down on a super windy day so didn't do fort fisher. Tried Bradleys but put in too far up-creek, but made that choice because of the wind.. Didn't understand the tides and made some rookie mistakes. We plan to go back and launch at your suggested spot.

Thanks! Yeah, I've been up to my eyeballs with work. I just expanded my shop and gained a couple more employees so I haven't had time to get out on the water at all this year! But don't give up! I'll get out there this fall and shoot some more videos definitely!
@FlynFlyFish8 жыл бұрын
Great vid - thanks for taking the time to post. One thing to consider - I've watched several of your videos. If you put your reel handle on the other side, you won't have to switch hands after casting and when changing grip on the rod. You lost a couple fish when the line went slack as you switched hands. You'll have to re-learn, but trust me, it will be worth it!
@YakinFishWerx8 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I've heard that before. Haha! But I grew up using old school baitcasters. Plus, I skateboard, shoot and golf left handed.... But I write right handed. I'm all messed up! Haha!

Wow I spent half a night trying to find someone that had videos showing how to do the hand lettering. The ones I found were over two years old. I want to learn how to write something on my Ocean kayak. Like what brush and type of paint to hold up to salt water. You do this and have a kayak. Can you give me some advice? Subbed
@YakinFishWerx8 жыл бұрын
I can give you paint types and brush types all day. But the biggest thing is practice if you want it to look nice. I use One Shot paints and Mack lettering brushes. The brush in this video was a Kafka brush since this was more of a drawing than lettering. I actually drew out the design lightly with a waterbased pencil to get the layout, then filled it in with paint. The biggest part of lettering with paint is to clean the surface very well. Or the paint will rub off quickly. Hope that helps?

Not sure how I missed this video of yours but what an awesome paddle. This is going on my 2016 paddle list. Awesome. Is there enough water for my Hobie Outback in most of the creek?
@YakinFishWerx8 жыл бұрын
Yeah man. Should be just fine for the most part. There are some shallow spots here and there. Especially at low tide. Just make sure you bring a paddle in case you come across a log or stuff under the surface like branch snags. The middle of the creek is more than a paddle shaft deep in most areas, so again, you should be fine. And thanks! We had a blast.

There is a channel on the other side where you can make it back to the launch. I grew up on this creek. Thanks for sharing!
