Sure was. I wore that combo out over the two or three seasons I fished it. Upgraded to a Battle II 3000 paired to a Tsunami Classic 7' rod. Can't wait to get drug around again this year!

Great vid - thanks for taking the time to post. One thing to consider - I've watched several of your videos. If you put your reel handle on the other side, you won't have to switch hands after casting and when changing grip on the rod. You lost a couple fish when the line went slack as you switched hands. You'll have to re-learn, but trust me, it will be worth it!

Yeah. I've heard that before. Haha! But I grew up using old school baitcasters. Plus, I skateboard, shoot and golf left handed.... But I write right handed. I'm all messed up! Haha!

Good place for spot fishing near drawbridge. What a perfect day for drum fishing! Sometimes i found a small Hopkins or Kastmaster will nail them. Other times spoons won't work at all!

Nice catch and informational to boot. For instance, I learned fish can detect flatulence?! Maybe bean burritos can be used for bait..... No ideas on bone; how dense/heft was it? Mom enjoyed catch also.

Murray Cooper We put in at Wrightsville Beach boat ramp. Park under the bridge on the left. Free parking for non trailer cars and trucks. Get there early though!

Went down on a super windy day so didn't do fort fisher. Tried Bradleys but put in too far up-creek, but made that choice because of the wind.. Didn't understand the tides and made some rookie mistakes. We plan to go back and launch at your suggested spot.

What works best for redfish baitwise?

Really depends on time of year, area, habitat you are fishing etc. But a good all around bait that seems to work more often than not is 4" white gulp shrimp on a jig head with about 2' of flouro leader. Fish it with a slow bump retrieve in the bottom. If they are really finicky this usually gets a bite. Be prepared for flounder and trout as well with this method!
