Hope to see more videos from both of you! It would be awesome if you could include footage of the rigs you're using. As someone with no experience fishing near jetties, seeing how the rigs are set up would be a huge help. Thanks for sharing!

How do you know which spot has sandy bottom and which spot doesnt?
@JivesFishing
@JivesFishing 8 күн бұрын
Usually its by experience. But lets say you’re trying a new spot, you can try going there at low tide to recce and see how the terrain is like. For shallower areas, you might be able to make out what kind of terrain is there during low tides of <0.5 - i.e. corals, rocks, sandy bottom etc. For deeper areas, its best to ask people who have fished there before, or else its trial and error, i.e. if you sangkot there alot, likely there is some hard corals or rocky structure.

everytime i do cable car the float doesnt't go far cause the line sags why is that so and how can i fix ir
@JivesFishing
@JivesFishing 8 күн бұрын
You can try raising the rod higher and more vertical when lowering the cable car float with the live bait, so that it descends more smoothly. Once the live bait reaches the water, lower your rod and let the line sag abit to allow the live bait to swim and regain momentum.

Always loved watching your videos because you guys can say the scientific names of each fish species you caught! (Maybe add their scientific names as a text overlay next time?) You mentioned tidal co-efficient and the rule of thirds. How about changes in barometric pressure as a factor in fish activity? I am a believer in huge tidal co-efficient when it comes more fish bites.
@JivesFishing
@JivesFishing Ай бұрын
Thank you 🤩 will do that in future. With regards to barometric pressure, we have read quite abit on that, but haven’t had much experience to decide whether it has affected our fishing as of yet, so we may not cover that ☺️

Which water breaker did you guys fished from? I mean what number, from 1 to starting from Marine Parade all the way to sailing club? Also which EXACT water breaker you know of or heard of is the preferred one here in East Coast?
@JivesFishing
@JivesFishing Ай бұрын
We dont usually take note of which breaker we fished at. Usually we just look at google maps and see which is most convenient (nearest to main road). We heard breaker 2 and breaker 5 has a lot of stingrays, but not too sure as we haven’t really tried those.

the past 2 months for me have been so bad... are you able to share some tips on season?
@JivesFishing
@JivesFishing Ай бұрын
Hi ~ hmm that is hard, because honestly there isn’t really a season in Singapore because we are in a tropical climate. The last few months have been hard for us too. Perhaps due to the monsoon, but we are not too sure as well.

Nice video. I am trying to scoop sotong at btj do you know when is the season for the squid and any tips for night fishing?
@JivesFishing
@JivesFishing Ай бұрын
Thanks :) hmm as for sotong season, i think the seasons were more predictable maybe 4-5 years back. What we have observed in more recent years is that the sotong season is quite random, possibly due to climate change and the monsoon arriving earlier/later (and having an extended duration). It is best to make some friends that regularly visit bedok jetty, and check if there are many uncles at the end with the pole and net. If the end has at least 6-7 uncles scooping sotong, most likely its in season.
@JivesFishing
@JivesFishing Ай бұрын
As for night fishing at bedok jetty, if you are aiming for bigger fish like stingrays, it would be ideal to use a 10ft and above surfcast rod that can cast out a size 6 sinker as the current at the end is very strong. Reach in the early evening to catch some fresh tamban as bait would be good if you dont have kelong sotong. We usually use long snood rig. As for medium sized scale fishes, any rig (apollo etc) will do.

Yes prawns work perfectly well for most fishes. But not usually for mackerels, as they take mainly baitfish like tamban
