dont make the same mistake as me, for your first play through avoid temperate swamps, my first game i thought i selected a temperate forest but i clicked on a slightly darker shade of green, so moment game started the whole map was filled with trees. it took forever to get a base set up and a growing zone so my colonists did not make it.

thank you very helpful tips, most of these will be difficult to use on a temperate swamp tho since theres a ton of trees, but at least you can use multiple wood generators since you will have abundant amount of trees to use.

Economics DLC where you can pay colonists silver for certain buffs and it makes slavery a more useful institution because mid/late game it's easier to make them colonists with high social and other means. Possibly even just a Ideology update with "Corporate Syndicate" for the silver minded individuals

My first successful colony was something interesting. I never harvested organs. Neither did I steer towards cannibalism. But at some point, I started the drug empire. I became the primary supplier of yayo for other factions and especially shattered empire. I never struggled with addiction cuz my ideology forbade it. And as a side hustle, I bred Boomalpes and sold the excessive ones. It worked out great, no unethical stuff.
