Hi, i am trying to restore 6s in 2024. I wonder why we must do shift + restore button and not restore as such showing in itunes. How it will do restore differently?

I have tried both. Normal restore as well as shift + restore + selected ipsw file on a windows 11 machine, file which was downloaded. In both cases did not understand where the difference lies since both not successful. Both the cases, restore happened, but after restart, same issue, that iphone is stuck at apple id that was used at setup. I am using same apple id but password as of today, because don't remember password of 8 years ago.. Now having reset, phone is still not usable since it's not letting me past apple id screen..
