Things change day to day in the filter business. Since cv19 came along, most filters are crap. Sadly, many Chinese filters are of the best quality. I have cut many used and unused....

It's kind of contradictory when you tell people "do these safety things" but then dont show them how to do the safety things. I'm not saying you needed to show us how to pull a Transformer from a microwave and wire it up but I don't see any reason why you couldn't show how to wire the three switches together which is arguably the point of your entire video

Thanks for the great step by step videos. I built a 6 car train for the 4th of July for my grandkids for about $ 350.00. Surprisingly adults want to ride in it also. It was a fun project for me to build and it should last for many years.

What about the freak accident where you get electrocuted, involuntary grab onto the handheld switches due to muscle tensioning and then fall on the deadman-switch?

Some filters don’t even have endcaps , case in point , Toyota filters.

Its funny your preaching so much saftey, you put 3 switches but you still managed to install the high voltage leads to the outside of the box instead of the inside of the box, just saying, for someone preaching that much saftey and adding 3 switches, having the leads on the outside is pretty dangerous and stupid 😂😂😂😂

c'est mal conçu et vous refaite la même erreur, il faut mettre et souder des platines sur les flotteurs et ensuite souder vos plats dessus it's poorly designed and you make the same mistake again, you have to put and solder plates on the floats and then solder your plates on them

FYI, get a big pipe cutter :) FRAM has been trash for a long time. Walmart Super-tech is one of the best especially considering the cost, which makes it #1

I used to use Fram when I started driving. That was a long time ago and Fram was considered one of the best filters available. It probably was but times change. I have not used Fram for over 10 years after reading a review on BobTheOilGuy website. The filters were cut apart and examined just like here. I think they also tested the filter material. To my surprise, I'd learned that my trusted goto Fram was garbage.

I appreciate your suggestions for adding safety switches for protection, however, I’d like to piggyback your ultimate message to not do this at home by suggesting everyone use the most effective switch available: SWITCH HOBBIES! This WILL KILL you eventually!
@kencrisp63333 ай бұрын
Sir…you did an admirable job pointing-out the dangers of fractal woodworking-it’s clear that you care. You also provided good safety ideas for those who still wish to try this. The 3 switches certainly provide a higher level of luck. I didn’t say protection because if you’re opening any of those switches while burning the wood, you most likely got wrapped by thousands of volts. The purpose of those switches, I would argue, is more for making the scene safe for those who find you dead on the floor. Your light bulb idea is a good one, but I would take it a bit further and install two lights in case one burns out. You mentioned the transformer is quiet when energized. If the single bulb suddenly burns out, it could deceive you into thinking the transformer is not energized. I would also use LED bulbs since they rarely burn out.

I just lost a close co-worker to fractal woodworking a week ago. His wife came home and found him unconscious in the shed. When she realized he was dead, she said she let-out a blood-curdling scream. When the cops and paramedics showed up, they had to handcuff the wife because she became suicidal. These preventable deaths affect family and friends. DO NOT DO THIS!

I believe the better option is to have a wood cabinet. Where your project is in with. It enclosed with your wood burning leads. If. The door is open. The electricity is cut off. And I would definitely not be in the same room also have ventilation. Dead man switch federal. Emergency shut off lights and buzzards and sirens.

Thank You for designing a circuit that flies "3 mistakes high". However, by putting momentary switches in both hands you're creating a 110 path that could go across your chest if one of the switches fails. It would probably be better to have a foot switch and at least one (ideally both) of your momentary switches mounted to a non-conductive surface, such that you engage both switches with one hand on the same side of your body as the foot. That way a failure of the momentary switch throws your hand out of the circuit. In high voltage circuits, the concept of the "one-armed technician" is a good one to follow - never touch a circuit with both hands. It's easy to get in the habit of putting your left hand in your back pocket. :)

He's correct. I'm a union electrician of 21 years. My work friend died from a high voltage transformer at work.
