Looks as good as Ray's pool. They did awesome job. I've had problems with the same paver company. We ordered several pallets of them and same thing wrong style. The didn't want to take them back gave me the same song and dance but like I told them they sold them to my installer which is me I own the company. So my foreman loaded them up in one of our 25ton dump trucks and delivered them back. That's another whole story, cops, bail, etc. But my lawyer got my money back and I went and bought them at another place. Good information.

We chose to have pavers around our new pool. After about two years the pavers within 4 or 5 feet of the pool perimeter began to settle. Since the settling was less than two inches the pool contractor claimed the paver guy “owned” that region. Conversely, the paver contractor claimed the pool builder failed to properly compact the backfilled area around the concrete pool shell. After weeks of finger pointing the paver contractor addressed the issue. Sadly, he had to do this out of his pocket. It’s completely ridiculous how these pool contractors get away with so much. We chose not to take legal action, but looking back we should have. Sorry you had to experience the horror of poor contractors Jim. The pool looks great, I hope the family enjoys it. Best.

It was insane how you were treated by this company. Seeing the product first hand and hearing the plant manager explain precisely why the product was defective should have been enough for any reputable vendor. The vendor was spitefully obstinate in fulfilling his contractual obligation and only did so when you secured legal representation. Placing responsibility in Jean's lap was beyond reprehensible. Some time behind the wire might enhance his business acumen . Thanks for sharing !

I worked dealing with the public for 42 years. While I can say the customer is not always right, I can say that you need to do everything you can to satisfy and make them happy. In all those years, many times I would get dispatched with info that the customer was disgruntled. Not once did I ever leave when I thought the customer wasn’t happy with the result. Most time just the fact that you care and will listen gets them on track to being a satisfied customer. These days with social media, it doesn’t take much to ruin your rep and your business

Mr Bollinger,I TOTALLY respect your ability to refrain from using bad language but in this case I would have allowed it. My personal experience was nowhere near that bad and MY language turned quite blue... Luckily for me, I was dealing with the tile supplier directly and I was the installer and they were the manufacturer and dealer (I lived in Las Cruces at the time.) However although a couple of the people were difficult to deal with, I did manage to get my problem solved by not accepting the "misunderstanding" through language problems. THEY were under a crunch to keep their reputation intact and knew they were at fault so ... Not accepting the brushoff and blame games I managed in only a couple of weeks.Congratulations on a great final job and commiserations on what it took to get it.

It is sad, but that is where we are as a nation. I remember a time that a handshake meant more than a piece of paper. I worked for a company on government contract. The line on our company was that they loved our workers, but hated our management. We eventually went out of business because of that. They didn't want to deal with our management. When you would never think of treating a customer that way, it is shocking when it happens to you. Wishing you and the family a Happy Christmas, and a very Merry New Year. Hoping 2020 treats you better.

I've dealt with pavers many times...my friend is a Certified UniLock paver installer. I shot him this video and his response was "I have never, ever, ever, ever heard of this EVER happening"...but again, he deals in UniLock, which may be why. He did say they investigated other manufacturers (though not that company), and he has never had this experience. NEVER once did he have to fight with the paver manufacturer. Thanks for the heads up on that lousy company...

@@DoRiteFabrication I had a bad experience with a landscaper once. I tried to get my old company to do the work (same company my friend works for...well, by now he's part owner I'm sure). I ended up with somebody else. BAD Idea. His designer under-bid the job, and made some mistakes in the design. Those mistakes came out when they tried to do the full install. The owner came out and tried to charge me nearly $9000 for all the changes. We ended up at about $1500 and I was still angry. Their fault...I believe they went out of business 2 years later all with comments of "horrible customer service and coming back with upcharges" Too bad, they actually did really good work in our first phase of work we had them do.

Welcome to my world. I have been in construction for many years as a civil Engineer and land devilment manager. I can say without any dought that there is a mighty thin line to honest and dishonest manufactured and contractors. You have to do your own due diligence and be a supervisor on everything project big or small. In my mind, you and your wife did a very good job, but the contractor should have stepped in and noticed that the pavers were damaged and sent the load back. If the contractor is a contractor who has dealt with this company he should know too check there QA. That's my view. Good luck with your project. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Sorry you went through that hassle. I would have liked a little more meat on the attorney angle in the story and how that particular chapter played out. The important lesson, I think, is the idea that if you are buying these materials with the notion that they carry a warrantee, why would you have your installer be the purchaser? Why would his name sit on top of the purchase order? That makes no sense to me. Yes, I understand he warrantees his installation. Yes, I understand he could very well have a relationship with the paver supplier/manufacturer, and he could be able to buy the materials cheaper, eg; with a contractor price. If he DIDN'T, then he probably could not have eaten the cost of the takebacks. I myself do not like those kinds of materials-markup deals and this is exactly why. Of course, I've never heard of pavers being subject to a warrantee claim. Thanks for posting the video, I don't mean to be overly critical.

I had pavers installed at the beginning of this year, for some strange reason the manufacturer delivered half the supply to the wrong town and the contractor had to go and collect them rather than having a six week wait until the manufacturer had their truck in the area again.

@DoRiteFabrication5 жыл бұрын
The lawyer made all the difference. After reading their letter they wanted signed, he just laughed and said, I'll handle this, five days or so later, I signed a reasonable acceptance of replacement agreement and they delivered my pavers the next day. I believe my atty used the words breach of contract. That made them move fast, very fast.
