I said it so many times and I will keep saying it do not stack your vinyls all the way to the ceiling especially if you live in California like I do. Bad for your health (from 976-CREOLEMAN)!

Wonderfully apt descriptions of the album and its songs. Would have enjoyed you going into each song even more. I love this album, too, namely tracks 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7. This album is definitely for a certain mood, and when you're in that mood, it really feeds your soul. There's a full experience with each song. Perfect Winter or cold/rainy/snowy weather listening as well. The duet with Elton John is the weakest track by far. John's straightforward vocals don't get to the deep emotional core of the star-crossed lovers' story. There's also no emotional connection between the two singers, so the characters never really come to life, though I think it is a brilliant Kate Bush story idea. Overall, the album is, as you said, for deep listening, contemplative, with a great use of quiet and negative space, and songs having a very slow build with a nuanced, intricate pay-off. What patience, soul, honesty, and an ethereal almost otherworldly, haunting quality. This album is like an existential walk in a snowstorm, and at the same time, like a warm blanket on a cold Winter night. It also feels like it's about loss and grief to some extent, and things that haunt us about the past.

Great list. Kate Bush is my favorite female recording artist of all time as well. She's brilliant on all levels and I especially love her storytelling and the way she portrays different characters and their perspectives in her songs. I love where her inspirations come from and the way she follows those inspirations and stories, which dictate all of the choices she makes for the songs lyrically, sonically, instrumentally and vocally, as well as directorially for her videos.

I love what Kate crearted or recereated on The Director's cut album. Fish People is actually Kate's own record label that she created herself,the first relese on this label was the "50 Words For Snow" album and the next album on her own label was "The Director's Cut" and then the "Before The Dawn" live recording album.. in 2013 she was also awared a C.B.E for services/contributions to the music industry. I always felt with Director's Cut,it was Kate recording tose songs a sshe had originally wanted them to sound or had envisioned them and forming hre own record label allowed her the fredom to create this album and release it.It's an album that still divides her fans,but I love her reinventiveness on this album and Flowrs Of The Mountain is a stand out track on this album. thank you for replying and I am glad that you are alright. I always wanted to ask you...I am going to assume you in northern Illinois or southern Wisconsin...there is a video you have about a flea market you would go to with a guy being in the back of it that was there on the weekends...was that flea market in Island Lake? I live about a half-mile from that area and I thought the guy had good stuff and was cool to talk to...just wondering if this is the place.
@robertclark539
@robertclark539 3 жыл бұрын
@@waldemarszafranowicz6737 Not the same place or guy, unfortunately. The flea market I was going to was in the south end of the city of Rockford, Illinois. Eventually, the whole thing shut down and the building was repurposed. The guy who sold the records there started selling him out of his home in Oregon, Illinois after that.

Hi from Argentina, I would love to get it in a near future. As you said it clocks in at 65 minutes so quite short for a double ... does it has a blank D (or four) side as "Calling All Stations" (Genesis) and many others ? .. I preffer albums arranged like that rather than sides that make you jump off the sofa every 14 / 15 minutes to put the other side... BTW Incredible collection, cheers !

Great comments and video! Some Numan history though. That Symbol represents a Machman Robot like the song. Airlane is Track 1 on The PP also. The eye on the back represents a robot cyborg which they look like humans. He borrowed a lot from the 1973 Sci-Fi Classic Film ''Westworld''. Instead of telling they are robots by the hands it is bar the bar across the eye. Numan's vision is much darker then the movie but the movie is great don't get me wrong. The album was from his movie he wanted to make but ended up turning the chapters into songs. Even the cover Numan as a Cyborg looks like Yul Brynner's Robot Gunslinger in the film I just talked about without the black cowboy hat. So their some history of the Replicas album which yes is better then The PP. PP is great too a mixture Sci-Fi and life events and things on it. I do like Telekon better then The PP also after Replicas I have been Numanoid since 2001! Prior I only knew Cars why I decline u.s. mainstream radio so much mostly not him and the band's best number at all. I started with the old songs and CD's the 3. Then more and the the newer stuff some mixed with 1981 and after in between. Though I do like what he is doing but he was so ahead then with the whole Darkwave thing. Now it is more Dark Industrial also common and or Gothic Rock. Back then before some Gothic Rock even like I Die: You Die his 1rst big U.K. Top 10 Hit and 20 in Ireland released in Aug. '80.

It was specifically because of this video, which I watched last winter, that I put out a separate bird bath this year, just for the bees and so far, so good, they all seem to love it! The birds have one too, but, sometimes they venture over to the bee bath to see what's happening with them.
