Tried a bunch of variations of the tau turn. I think we are always a credit short or a click any way you cut it. Bass doesn't actually generate click as you need to install it as well. So you are basically only working with 4 clicks and need 5 to advance the ikawah. And to actually trigger MM, you NEED to install bass twice. If you get 1 more click with RLC then the credit spent "buying" that click means you are short on money (2 bass + 5adv is 11c exactly). If you grease for more money there is no way to trigger mirrormorph. Holoman doesn't help here its just a more expensive bass. As it is 6c for 2adv whereas bass is 5c for 2adv.

What Camera did you buy? And how did you get the construction to mount it? (I'm looking into recording real life games myself)
@MetropoleGridКүн бұрын
I picked up the Lumix S5ii, alongside the kit 20-60mm lens. Funny enough, the table mounting system is the HELGEÖ "decorating rod for table" from Ikea, which is definitely not a professional mounting system. So far, it has been working pretty well, and is pretty affordable. I picked up a couple of articulating clamp arms with threads to mount the camera and lights to the bar.

@xyceres2 күн бұрын
2:25:49 You are theoretically click perfect if you use an install but you are short credits, or if you add greasing you only have 3 things to do so can't get MM to fire favourably. It was impossible. Greasing doesn't normally work in MM combos. If including it is more for setup turns.
@MetropoleGridКүн бұрын
Greasing the Palm can work pretty well in MirrorMorph combos, but you just about always need to use the Greasing alongside a non-agenda combo piece, like Bass or The Holo Man. For example, Greasing a Bass, installing an agenda, and then firing Bass, gives you the free MirrorMorph advancement, which allows you to fast advance a 3/2 agenda. It's not perfect, and there's a big chance Restore is more flexible in the Greasing slot.

Trojan is not any different than Crew in how it affects opponent. Both require you to commit financially and are really bad feel moment. Trojan at least has money leverage, Crew just nukes the ice with Leech or Devils Charm for peanuts with 0 counterplay.

Since I'm someone who generally sticks to a small pool of maybe 2 decks per side, I obviously bring them to everything. But generally I play fundamentals style decks anyways so jank generally off puts me more than anything (for the record, jank is a vague term, but for me, it's usually a deck that has an obscure win route/condition that is usually considered weak eg something like a Rosetta Stone deck).

Sad I missed this one - 12/3(+4) Agenda - World Domination. Hehe. Only worth three, because "Corp had plan for World Domination? Not really news" but if they score it, well it's World Domination Edit to Add, Some decks used Loan as the normal credit source, as in "Need credits, play loan" and just take the start of turn credit loss. Of cause, dangerous.
@MetropoleGrid2 күн бұрын
I've heard many stories of Loan from Chiba being an incredibly powerful economic tool in constructed ONR, of which its downsides were counteracted by simply taking out more Loans from Chiba. It tracks.

Is this deck fairly balanced towards the HB deck you built? Can I use these to replace the pre-built decks in System Gateway, which (in our experience) significantly leans towards the runner.
@MetropoleGrid2 күн бұрын
That's a great question. I would have to play the match up many more times to come to a conclusive answer. My guess is that the Precision Design Corporation deck will be slightly favoured until the Runner becomes more experienced and aggressive, and then the tables will shift. I'd be excited to hear what your expeirence is with the matchup.

Hi Andrej! Thanks so much for great content. We love your videos in Munich. Can you help with one crim question - if running with Inside Job, Malandragem, S-Dobrado and the Corp rezzes an ice with an on rez face heck (like Pulse, Anemone, or even Anansi) does the face check fire or is it *all* bypassed? Thanks in advance 🎉
@MetropoleGrid13 күн бұрын
Hey tesseract! If you're referring to the non-subroutine text on those ice, whether or not it resolves is entirely dependant on what the exact text is. The classic example of this interaction is Tollbooth, which forces the Runner to lose three credits when the Tollbooth is encountered. All of the bypass tools you listed are structured roughly similarly: "Whenever you encounter a piece of ice, bypass it." This means that both players have an ability that fires when the Tollbooth is encountered - the Runner's effect will bypass the Tollbooth, while the Tollbooth's effect will make the Runner lose three credits. When two conditional abilities have the same trigger, the active player (the player whose turn it is), is required to fire their abilities first. Now since it is the Runner's turn, they are the active player and have priority, and so they fire their bypass trick first when they encounter the Tollbooth. Once the Tollbooth is bypassed, the Runner is no longer encountering the Tollbooth, and the window for the Tollbooth to sap three credits is no longer active. The Tollbooth's effect fizzles. In short - bypass should always beat 'on encounter' ice text, since the bypass always happens first. All that being said, the three ice you mentioned don't have 'on encounter' abilities. Pulse and Anemone have 'on rez' effects, and Anansi has a 'when an encounter with this ice ends' clause. Bypass does not interact with 'on rez' at all. Not only is ice is rezzed during the 'approach step' of a run, well before the Runner has a chance to do any bypassing, but regardless of how the Runner is going to interact with the ice, it was rezzed. Anansi's 'when an encounter with this ends' clause will also fire if the Anansi is bypassed. The Runner did encounter the Anansi - that's how they fired their "Whenever you encounter a piece of ice, bypass it" text. As we mentioned in the above Tollbooth case, once the Anansi is bypassed, the encounter with the Anansi ends. Therefore, an encounter with the Anansi ended, and the subourtines weren't fully broken. Zap! Inside Jobbing an Anansi can be pretty rough. Notably, this works entirely the same with ice with "When the Runner passes this ice" clauses, like Tatu-Bola or Phoneutria. If you do need to bypass an Anansi safely, I'd recommend a Capybara - if the Anansi is derezzed, its harmful text won't be active. Hopefully that helps. Thanks for the kinds words too, eh!

Hey there is no possibility at my place to get sets other than the Liberation set. Is it still a fine experience to start netrunner with only the cards from the liberation cycle?
@MetropoleGrid13 күн бұрын
As long as you have System Gateway, that's totally fine! However, if you can't get your hands on System Gateway, the Liberation Cycle (like most cycles) does not offer enough agendas to make legal Corporation decks. System Gateway gives you a strong base of neutral agendas, which makes deckbuilding possible. Keep in mind that print-and-play files are available on Null Signal Games' website for free, and proxying is legal at all levels of organized play. If you want to proxy the sets you can't currently get a hold of, I'd highly recommend it.

Great, after diving again in netrunner i decided to focus on Jinteki startup and this video made me rething my deck ! I'd be curious how you would reconsider ice selection when Sysiphus Protocol and Mount Fuji retrieval become available. Cloud eater, jaguarandi and Boto seemed quite appealing so i feel like the expanded startup format makes you rethink quite some ice & agenda
@MetropoleGrid13 күн бұрын
Fujii Asset Retrieval is perfect for this sort of archetype for many reasons, but I'm not sure if we'd end up playing Sisyphus Protocol. 5/2 agendas are quite hard to score, and those numbers don't line up well with Neurospike. See How The Run, on the other hand, sets up much more naturally for a five damage burst with double Neurospike. Just about all the Jinteki ice from the Liberation Cycle is perfectly spikey, and Tatu-Bola is incredible. We'd also get a huge boost from both Charlotte Caçador and Cohort Guidance Program, which both use and generate advancement counters in ways we'd enjoy.

@qwitwa22 күн бұрын
Gateway content will be evergreen for years but update is being replaced by Dawn in less than 3 months.
@MetropoleGrid13 күн бұрын
As qwitwa mentioned, as of right now, it's unfortunately a bit tricky to tackle System Update 2021, let alone the Startup format. System Update is rotating out of both the Startup and Standard format in two or three months, and it's not a product I would actively recommend pursuing. It's an awkward spot, but I'll definitely revisit Gateway + Dawn (the set that is replacing System Update) in the near future when it's released. That being said, even with the Systeup Update card pool, there's a chance that we might stick with Restoring Humanity over Personal Evolution. That's mostly so we can have some free credits to afford the third fork to our damage plan - Punitive Counterstrike.

Regarding playing Tier 2 decks feeling less good to play. I don’t know how long ago you’re comparing that change to, but I’ve definitely been feeling that a lot since getting back in to the game. I’ve attributed to just something about the meta / current card pool or something. I used to love taking random brews and jank to GNKs. But I feel like the card pool is in a place where there’s just things you have to have answers to - and if you don’t have it, it just feels bad.

Hi! Long time watcher, first time commenter. I definitely watch the VOD in chunks. I've been a Netrunner fan for a long time, but I rarely play. I find the game really, really fun to watch though. One of these days I'll have to go to jinteki and actually get some playing done, but I do have some nerves around people dealing with me while I pick up the nuances of how to play. Thanks for the content!

To answer your question about VODs. I very rarely watch live due to timezones and I tend to always watch in chunks (thanks for the timestamps!). Normally news then game by game depending on time over a few days. I'll also go back to watch particular decks getting played so I can understand some of the lines now I'm playing standard exclusively.
