I would like NSG to provide a decklist or two to show what they think NBN should look like at this point. The bans the faction has received have been so impactful that for the first time in many years of Netrunner I'm out of ideas for what to build with what's provided. Econ denial isn't allowed, kill is kneecapped, their ice rarely ETRs, they have no NSG-designed 5/3s, and they have multiple IDs that are banned or rendered unplayable due to bans. What do they want yellow to actually do?

I would never have guessed Trick Shot would be banned when it first came out.

It's tricky: you don't want assets to be without impact, so you need them to either be powerful or cost a lost to trash; but if they're not both the impact on the runner is nothing. You don't generally want to ICE assets. So you need asset spam to 'overwhelm' the runner, but that doesn't feel great either from a runner perspective. I think I'd prefer that the runner had to choose which assets to trash, so higher trash cost, but less powerful? At the moment it feels like you have to ignore them all, or have bones and completely dominate the assets - neither is fun.

When ppl build to beat a deck and still don't do it, expect something to be banned
@chriskieta872528 күн бұрын
Maybe it's necessary, but it feels like this ban effectively brings Shaper back to its previous position as a distant third choice for Runner. Ari did get Muse, which is great, but for every other identity Trick Shot was basically the only difference between the Shaper decks that weren't very popular before RWR, and the Shaper decks that were exciting and powerful after the set's release. It's concerning because I'm beginning to feel like NSG is unable to deliver a diverse Runner meta with a variety of interesting decks. Instead it's just Good Stuff Hosh, tempo Crim and some Shaper deck that shuffles too much and isn't that good.

Just spitballing, but I think there should be an upper limit of 4 tags that the runner can have at a time. I feel like this would have limited R+ to a degree by making oppo or behold less useful if the runner is already at the limit. ICE like funhouse could be cheated through if you have 4 tags and choose the take a tag option instead of ETR or pay 4cr. Obviously this would have some drawbacks with tag/flatline metas but runner have options for resiliency
@patrickjsklar831529 күн бұрын
That's a pretty interesting idea. I think this could work if it also forced you to act as if you canNOT take anymore tags - like Funhouse, in this example, would end the run on encounter because you can't choose to take another tag, maybe?
@larsjeger434629 күн бұрын
@@patrickjsklar8315 That's fair, the subs that have a choice to do something else or take a tag would default to the non-tag option and the subs that only give a tag would just not resolve?

What about a Luminal near-print that is a 5/2 agenda?
@MetropoleGrid21 күн бұрын
I'd imagine that would be pretty far below the power curve. Classically, a Luminal type effect was printed on both an HB 4/2 and 5/3 agenda (neither of which were 'limit 1 per deck'), and while both of those agendas saw play in certain decks, they were far from ubiquitous. Check out Efficiency Committee and Elective Upgrade on netrunnerdb.

The cards being banned I don't disagree with, but the article was a little strange imo. Amani Senai is generally a healthy way to win since you need to spend an install on it, then score out similar to The Powers That Be. Sure, the trash cost is a little steep for a deck with Oppo Research, but by and large I think Amani Senai is a good win con for NBN to have. I'd have considered Self Growth Program if you want to reduce NPE and take the edge out of NBN punishment. Everyone is expecting Dawn to weaken Corps more than Runners, for good reason, but if this is the banlist we walk into Dawn with, it might be a sign that cards like Rashida rotating out might not be so bad for Corps after all.
@celestialspark569729 күн бұрын
Amani is generally a pretty unhealthy card. She triggers on steals, if you missed that, and generally either forces the runner to spend 4 to trash her (turning on Oppo Research) after already costing them 3+ credits, or costs the runner 15-20 credits over the course of the game.
@meathir492129 күн бұрын
@celestialspark5697 Yes, but that requires you to be touching cards. The only way the Corp can force her to trigger is to score, otherwise the Runner can sit back and make money until they're ready to touch cards.

They are not serious with this Trick Shot ban...

I have no problem going back to Overclock.
@vertemouse115629 күн бұрын
Aww yes! Letting Runners run again! Making Corps complete Agendas again! Trick Shot does not surprise me. There is no reason to play Conduit when three Trick Shots give you so much more value. Just run Overclock instead.
@chriskieta872528 күн бұрын
Between Deep Dive, Cataloguer and The Twinning, there's still not really a good reason to play Conduit.

As for tricksot, just rebalance the card in terms of cost/benefit. There's even a card text updates document for this, and it supersedes the text printed on cards. R+ is whatever, rebalance it to +1c gain each turn, or +2c on corp only. Somehow we lived with Azmari and Palana and almost noone died. If it's limiting game desing the other option is to git good, just saying. Luminal ban is not warranted.
