Also what are the chances in coming across the cat family - leopard, tiger, etc.? Is July a good time to see them during the jeep safari? Thanks!

July will be monsoon. If it rains chances are less to spot and sometimes safari might get cancelled. Jungle will look beautiful though in rain. Above 400mm is a good Lens choice to go with

I see most westerners in Sparsa resorts or Ramana Maharishi ashram. Nithyananda temple is on the girivalam path, not sure of accommodation

@@katylux2180 you can walk through night too.. ppl walk all around the time. Some choose to just do walk and visit temple later. Temple opens at 5am. Also can wear socks. If you find it hard, have Bhakti at heart and walk with slippers/ shoes. No harm.
