Another informative review, I currently play the Cobra King CB irons with Project X 6.5 shafts and I have been very happy with them performance wise although at times I have thought that I could maybe do with a touch extra forgiveness in the 4 and 5 irons even though I have plenty of speed (96-97 mph clubhead speed with 7 iron) and I can hit my longer irons well overall, I have just seen pics of the King CB and King Tour irons in the new black DBM finish and was blown away as they look amazing so I am now keen to test the King Tour black irons, so have you compared the King CB to the King Tour irons at any time?

Would these work for steep AOA players? Say, 7° ? High launch heads but low lofts are a bit concerning
@foregolfcustom
@foregolfcustom 7 күн бұрын
Be careful, they will pop the ball if you are steep into strike. I wouldn’t worry too much about the lofts as you will need stronger lofts if you are steep. You can always custom loft the irons anyway. Maybe try them but look at Callaway Smoke Ai heads and the Mizuno JPX HM Tour heads. You will need to watch the shaft you go into and keep an eye on head weights and shaft length too. Hope that helps. 👍🏻

Currently playing wilson D7 forged in a project X riftle 5.5. They feel heavy and my miss is always right. I bought a 7i in japen, Mizuno Gx forged with n.s. pro 950gh HT stiff, and that club feels great. I like the light feeling and almost always find i can get a good strike and get about 160yards straight, with a slight fade. I know the mizuno head may be more forgiving but i think the shaft definitely feels better. Would it be a good idea to get my D7s reshafted?

Yes they will feel the same as the Mizuno just maybe check the swing weight of the Mizuno and make sure they match it to the Wilson’s 😉

Thanks, great video. When should a golfer consider wedges that are all the same length? It seems to be becoming popular
@foregolfcustom
@foregolfcustom 13 күн бұрын
Thanks, glad you’re enjoying the content. I usually keep the wedges the same length if the golfer needs longer length clubs as it helps with low point control. Also if the feel of a longer shaft strikes better when hitting half shots for better accuracy and control. I also only space wedges normally in only 1/4 inch increments when I’m building clubs so never much of a length problem for our wedge builds. 👌🏻😉

Nice review but I have a question about the QI10 tour, I prefer to play my fairway woods shorter than standard but still want to maintain a D2.5 to D3 swingweight so do you have the capability of swapping out the small weight near the toe for a heavier one for adjusting swingweight?

Hey Scott, yes we did have the ability but those heads are now finished and we’ve sent back the weights to TM. Maybe have a look online for them. 👍🏻

You probably won’t see enough of a change on the change up from S2HD to Qi10 but it’s the Max head that is the best head for you unless you want a lower launch angle in which case go for the normal head design. 👍🏻

Great video Derek , very knowledgeable and professional as usual. I can't understand why people spend a load of hard earned cash going to high street golf shops to get fitted.. Half of them aren't even properly qualified and don't play off low single figures. Plus I know of 3 people In my club who went high street fitting and they all got the same clubs, 3 men of completely different ages / builds and strengths. Plus all clubs in high street golf shops ( unless stated ) are designed for people who are 5'11 so if your alot taller or smaller you need fitting if your serious about golf. Now I know there's the odd person who can play good golf and get down to below 7 without been fitted but I've only known of 2 people in nearly 20 yrs, so let's think sensibly here with the content of my comment. Anyone reading this stop wasting your money- go get fitted with Derek in ( Fore Golf ) as like me you'll receive great advice / proper clubs and and after sales package aswell. Why because he's been on the tours fitting real tour golfers ( even TIGER) and has the accolades to prove it. I've known Derek since the early 90's in his first shop, he won't let you down. Cheers Damien ( Naas)😂

Hi Derek, Great Video! I have been struggling with my GT3 since I completed my fitting. I was put in a 11* GT3 with a Tensei 1k Black 6x 1/2" shorter. I did not get on with the 1/2" length, so I went back to the standard which seems to help. I can't seem to get the adapter setting correct (currently A2), and thinking about going to a 10* GT2. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. Swing Speed 107 Ball Speed 160 AoA -1* Play a fade (High Center/Toe strike)

I am 72yrs and play Ping G425max with Tour2 S at 100mph. Tested the GT3 9 with 60g stiff shaft and I hit it well. It beat the Qi10LS and killed my own G43010K and my G430max. My G425max is longer, straighter and more consistant than all these latest models. Now waiting to try a Ping G440LST and then replace the old noisy girl.

I had no intention of trading in my TSR2. I switched to the GT2 back in Sept. I picked up 11 total yards, 4 mph club head speed increase and increased ball speed, if I remember correctly increased by 9 mph. I had 3 drives in one round of 301, 315, and 330 on my 6th round using it. I had very few 300 yard drives with the TSR2. The hosel adjustability is fantastic. I have switched the settings a few times to get it right. The beauty of golf tech

What a passionate review Derek, it was like you were trying yo offload one of your kids to a new father in law. I've the G425 for 3 years now and I honestly thought I was a white dot but I'm actually a green,dot. Plus the dispersion with Ping irons when fitted correctly is unbelievable. I've also got the 105 stiff shafts and all I can say is that with this head and shaft combination, these irons want to be hit well. I'd love to try these new i530s, but I'm pretty sure a divorce would follow if I were to purchase them.. Great video love all your clips and keep going as your doing a great job in the fitting / golf industry since the early 90's. See you soon for a chat Damien ( Naas).

My fitter set me up with the white dot and the TT Elevate MPH 95 gram shaft in stiff. My old eye 2 are black dot and my ISI Nickel Irons are blue dot. So the fitting is a must.

My swing speed is between 75 and 85. An average drive only goes 200. On a good day 220. Would you recommend the Max head or Normal head. I will say I had a 10.5 driver but didn’t like how high it flew. If I missed it, my miss would fly a mile to the right. I found with the 9 degree it was easier for me to keep it straight even though it didn’t go as far because of the low loft.

Probably best to stick to the normal head as MAX will go high. Go to the 9 degree and set the hosel to higher and that will help with the cut spin. 😉👍🏻
