What is the ratio of waxes 50/50 or other?

No! use a diode laser engraver and black laser engraving spray. You spray it onto your part, let it flash dry, then laser engrave the pattern onto any metal. This is very permeant, very thin and can be hand engraved thru, and any excess can be sanded off after hand engraving. No transfer paper, no drawing twice, no precise placing of papers or bad transfers; just direct laser imaging that you can use as your engraving guide.

im beginning my journey into engraving specifically so i can engrave and inlay my colt python. i finished all sketches of both sides and now im gonna definitely spend a couple hundred hours perfecting all the designs i drew on some practice metal. i may go out and buy a few cheap POS black powder revolvers and gouge the hell out of them before i put my 1100 dollar colt on the chopping block.

How well does the gold adhere to the stippling? Is there a risk of it flaking or peeling of from normal handling, i.e. racking the slide?

Theoretically couldn’t you undercut one side of the inlay and then just a few on the other side for the gold to stick

Great tips video for the beginner. Probably a few good tips in there for someone who's a little more experienced (although I wouldn't know) The video was, for me, hugely overshadowed by the smooth dobro playing of who can only be Jerry Douglas. I've never heard the piece before but I'd go my house against yours that it is indeed Douglas on dobro and in the CD/LP credits.

Om man I wanna work with those machines I've been drawing those designs for years. Do wood carvings, but the only metal engravers I've used are basically harbor freight. Nothing like that. I wanna learn this so badly
