Did shoot the pics in raw or jpeg. Did you edit pics

Always shoot raw and I always do some editing.

Was the video itself shot with the TG-7 or only the photos? I've been trying to find reviews about its video capabilities and not finding much.
@ftaylorsmith26 күн бұрын
Mostly with the TG-7. Some of the "selfie" shots were done with the DJI Pocket.

Amazing pictures, did you do any post-processing? The pictures people post in reviews of TG-7 made me think the camera isn't that capable, but seems you've demonstrated otherwise.

Thanks for the kind comments. I always do some post processing. But very minimal.

I've read a lot of reviews on this lens. Without exception, the "Olympus visionaries" sing the praises of this lens. It must be perfect. Everybody else, however, complains of terrible chromatic aberration in high contrast areas, bad enough that software won't remove it. Any comments on the purple fringing? Since you're primarily an outdoor photographer, you must have run into high contrast situations. I also note that you mention using this lens with focus bracketing. It's a shame that it doesn't work with focus stacking, since it is designated a "pro" lens. It has been on the market now for a couple of years, so I don't expect a firmware update to address this. It must be an issue with the focus motor. Any thoughts on this?

how is this compared to the Lumix 20 mm 1.7 mark ii?
@jeffslade189211 ай бұрын
I've got two of those. An old lens, a very early mft. It will not AFC/AFF on a Lumix. It has very accurate and fine focus but slow. Which makes it stills only with no fancy functions. Very handy pancake though with great glass; if we delve deep into the exif we find it is an unbadged Leica.

Some wonderful photos! Video clips looked fine. Few cameras suited for long hikes or a backpacking trip (small and lightweight), this could be one. Would it work reasonably well as a studio camera as well?

Good and interesting video with lots of outstanding images of my favourite landscape and hiking area. You were lucky with the weather too! The Om5 might be the perfect hiking camera for me, i skipped the line after the initial E-M5 because i usually require mire FPI for my images and also regularly use features like LiveND, StarrySky and HHHR with my E-M1 III and OM I. But i am not getting younger, every kilo counts when hiking and the OM5 offers all the landscape features i might need. How well does the IS work compard to the Om1? Regards from Munich - Sabine
@ftaylorsmith Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your kind comments! This camera is very well suited for hiking. The weight, size & features are designed for this type of use. The IS works really well. Especially when paired with a synced lens.

@Swaggerlot Жыл бұрын
If you are excited, I have to ask if you have already tried the OM-5 Mk 3? For example the 'starry sky' is merely a firmware update that could have already been provided in the MK3, much like the ND option. OM Systems are doing a lot of shooting themselves in their legs.
@kjl6138 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. Unfortunately, this is a lame upgrade and an embarrassment for OM compared to the OM-1. They better step up their game.
@RobShootPhotos Жыл бұрын
I've heard the firmware update thought. The E-M5 Mark III has a TruePic VIII processor and the OM-5 has the TruePic IX processor. It's a hardware upgrade with updated firmware. The newer processor gives the ability for the updated firmware to work properly. So no, this isn't just a firmware update.

@@RobShootPhotos Very mute point, best argued by the publicity people.
