My mother joined this cult when I was 5 (55 years ago) at the urging of her boss. She was so snowed, growing up it painfully clear she was easily led by people who knew how to get what they want on the hard work of others. She was constantly told by the cult that she must marry a Mormon man and have lots of children. When she finally married (under pressure) I could see she was unhappy but kept up the ruse that life was sunshine to her family and friends, she drank the kool-aid but was living double time because her husband was always getting in trouble (lazy, lying etc) she was told by the cult that she needed to stay home and have children but she had to work because of her husbands looser mentality. She had 3 miscarriages all because he wasn’t protecting her her and making sure she had what she needed for a healthy pregnancy. When she finally had a son he wasn’t a father to his son (or to me as he had said he would in the temple) he just watched tv. My mom worked the entire marriage (sometimes 2 jobs) twenty years into their marriage he cheated on her with a woman he had gotten pregnant and ran away from a couple years before he met my mom. She found out from his workplace when a friend told her he was getting letters at work from a woman. He committed adultery and the church did NOTHING. She was also told if she got a divorce she would not be allowed in heaven. This literally destroyed my Mom. She paid her tithing faithfully and always doubled her fast offering but she had no one on her side making sure she was ok (except me) she was afraid to leave the church because they convinced her she would go never go to heaven if she did. She died broken by this cult after years of depression, still paying her tithing and fast offering even when I showed her the Bible says divorce is accepted in the case of adultery. These people (the cult) will answer to Jesus for the sins they commit against thousands and thousands of scared members. They will also answer for hiding behind the title of Christianity when they are only out for themselves.

I learned basic math, science, and reading in 1st grade. The simple lessons were just as true then as they are now. I don't need to go to school every Sunday to listen to the testimonies of other people, or re learn the same lessons over and over again, to convince me those basic facts are true.

Before I went on my mission a guy I worked for handed me a bunch of papers telling me what went on in the temple, I read it and I didn’t believe it. I even read those papers to my parents and they looked at each other weird when I read it aloud, like, “yeah, we do do those things in the temple. I didn’t believe those papers until I got in the temple and everything I read was true! My head was spinning when I got out of the temple. I felt like I was going to pass out. The chanting freaked me out. I was like, “man, I am in a cult.” None of this stuff is in the Bible. Totally stolen from the masons. I’m a Christian now.
