Will this gain power with no tune on LQ4 and still pass smog? Thanks great video
@TheKingCoopa21 сағат бұрын
Any airflow or fuel changes, a tune is needed/recommend. You will gain some power, but it won't be maximized without a tune. This shouldn't effect smog, as long as you still hook up your evap system.

I got a nv3500. I’m thinking it’s pretty much straight forward but I was wondering if there were any challenges with that
@TheKingCoopa4 күн бұрын
@@808kahulaa there are a few factors. Its not to bad with a 4l60e. I swapped to a 4l80e which is 32 splined output shaft. So I had to buy a larger splined input adapter for the awd transfer case. Not sure how many splines the nv3500 has, but Definitely something to look at. I also installed a pump rub kit into the transfercase. Id inspect yours if you tear it apart. Also depending which version of transfer case you use, they are different sizes in lengths. The np149 was like 2inches longer than my old 261 4x4 unit. So I had custom driveshafts made. A longer front shaft, and a shorter rear shaft. I've herd some people were able to use a duramax front driveshaft, and get a 1350 yoke for the rear shaft and a different U joint to make it work, but the stock driveshafts still blow apart at like 130mph.
@808kahulaa2 күн бұрын
@@TheKingCoopa I understand you are a busy man and if you could clarify one thing? The increase in length for the swap was not due to the 4L80 being longer was it? The NV3500 does not use the ~2in extension piece that the 4L60 uses. I measured the component itself and it was same length. However, if the dropout lengths are different, that will not work so since you mentioned that, I will have to jack up the truck again or slide under and measure the dropout distance. When I pulled the np149 from a Denali, the driveshaft length was 2 in difference. I will have to do the work and I will let you know what comes out. Thanks

If you are 4x4 or AWD, your gear ratios HAVE to match. Opposite gear ratios will cause extreme binding, and you will probably destroy your transfercase in less than a mile. This video I was 2wd, so the opposite front diff gear ratio wasn't effected.

Yea, just block it off, and make sure your fuel tank/cell has a breather for the fuel to expand and contrast when it gets hot or cold. And try to make the breather higher than the fill/gas cap. So when you fill up, it doesn't piss out the breather

It tells you every single detail about the car. Wire schematics and all. But they are in a 3 to 5 book set, and cost about 300$ to 500$ for them. Im sure BMW has the same thing for their cars.
