I think the most powerful moment about Corday and Romano trying to save Lucy was when Romano declared they did everything they can, gave a well-deserved tantrum, and then went back and said "no, let's give the last epi a chance to circulate" and began to massage her heart again. It's one of his most humane moments. It shows how much he values saving lives. Ever since, when you watch/rewatch Romano's scenes in ER, you start to see the humanity in him even though he was still being an asshole about it. Like remember that episode when Luca was threatened to face a lawsuit after failing to save a young man which lead to brain death? Luca talked to the mom of the patient and was about to say that he was responsible until Romano interrupted him and told him if he confessed, he won't be the only one affected; it will affect most especially the patients. He explained it in a way that sounded like he was only concerned for the income at first but when he concluded his lecture, he said "ultimately, the patients will suffer" which somehow, although it's a bit far fetched, showed how much he actually values his patients (even though it's not clear whether it's patients' lives> money lol). There was when he passed out from his kidney stones and Benton was asking Romano to permit him to use an OR to do a facial surgery on a kid and Romano says he can't allow it bc if he gives Benton permission he will have to give everybody permission if they ask him for an OR. It's his job, and that's all there is to it. He was just doing his job. In the end, he told Benton, "That's why this conversation never happened." meaning he's permitting Benton to use the OR but he doesn't want to be involved in it as well. He was tough on the outside but you can really see the humanity in the simplest things. Like when Carter's grandma died and he said "I have to go hom," and Romano asked, "How old was she?" Carter: 78 Romano: We should consider ourselves lucky. Yes, go home. We have enough hands to cover your absence (non verbatim; he was referring to Luca's Croatian friend). He did this to Corday when Mark had a seizure in Hawaii. "We'll manage." When it's your first time watching Romano, you might really get sooo beyond pissed at him but he has his moments. He has really good moments lol I just felt like appreciating him because the amount of hate (though very valid) this character receives is insane. Not saying it's not valid, just that there's a heart beneath all that toughness.

I know this has been out for awhile. I enjoyed walking through this list... however, I didn't see the death of Omar Epps' character Dennis Gant in season 3 in "Night Shift". Perhaps I missed it, but that was one of the most powerful moments of the series in my opinion.

Funny when the show first game, I never watched it much cause I didn't like it now. Many, many years later, I'm sick. I'm in a rehab and I've been watching the whole shows and I like it. I didn't realize I'd get to show. Really was. Is that something?

Wish we could get Chicago Hope here in the u.s. on DVDs, ER and Chicago Hope were the best shows on tv, imo. UK has Chicago Hope, but u.s. can't get it because of the music in it. They didn't put it in our region (1). So if ppl would order it from UK, you can't play it on any DVD player.

Thank you for these compilations. I was just a little kid growing up watching this show. Now watching as a 30 year old hits differently and makes me love it more. My most powerful moment is when Dr. Greene tells Carter he sets the tone. The original cast was my favorite but honestly the entire show was amazing. I've tried different med shows but nothing compares. This show was just magnificent.
