Not a cheap gift. I've always wanted it. Despite, the entire series being available on Hulu. Did the box set come with any extras in it, besides the DVDs? I bought a special edition DVD set for the movie Titanic, and it came with pictures and leaflets that had information and pictures from the set. Very neat things to have. I still collect special DVDs from movies that mean a lot to me. Even though we live in an instant streaming world now. I still like to have things that I can physically hold in my hands.

The stabbing of Carter, him crying (without success) out for help, falling and then seeing Lucy bleeding out is easily a top ten. For my money the very last scene of ER with Carter calling out to Dr. Rachel Greene should also be in the top ten, it showed that while the series is ending the job never ends plus it all comes full circle with Carter passing on the knowledge taught to him by Mark.
@Michael-cf9cj2 жыл бұрын
Based on the title of the video, they were going for powerful moments. You're right about the final scene and for exactly that reason. The stabbing of John and Lucy, while an incredibly scene and one of the most memorable in a show full of memorable scenes, wasn't really that powerful. The intervention scene which was a direct result of the stabbing, that was a powerful scene.

ER has been re running on channel POP in The USA for the past month and continues to be on every morning with 6 eposides from 6am-1pm. I, at this time, am totally stuck to the TV. Not much of a TV watcher in general, but ER was one of the best shows ever & still is. I, being a nurse, truly appreciate & love each character as they portray true professionals with hearts, the way medicine should always be. I feel like I really know them in person, especially Drs. Greene, Carter & Benton...they deserve every accolade they received. This show makes my heart feel good again. 7/30/2020

I agree 100 % with that comment. Am a nurse too and I watched the show often when it first came on TV. But now that I can see the replay of shows on POP I realize I missed some, probably because I was working the PM shift. I can still remember being so touched by the characters of both doctors and nurses, and how so many of them reminded me of people I had met working the jobs I had. Doctors just like Mark Greene and Susan and Benton and John Carter and many others. In my opinion, the best medical show that ever was televised, hands down. It showed mistakes, flaws in personality, battles of egos and impossible limitations in our health care in the US. Thank goodness for reruns: Anyone who considers a career in health care should watch them all.

I think, had they kept it super hush hush, they could have had Doug and Carol show up the next episode to pay respects to Mark's passing. A short scene of them chatting and remembering Mark. There were some very powerful moments in both Be Still My Heart and All In The Family which was kind of like a double episode. Carter getting stabbed then seeing Lucy laying there. How does that not make it on the top ten most powerful moments? Corday and Romano losing the battle to save Lucy. Again, very powerful. A small but major tear jerking moment for me was in the first part Be Still My Heart (you're gonna have to rewatch the episode for this) when the family of four from the car accident comes in, both parents unconscious and critical, both children minor injuries but obviously overwhelmed and scared. They keep asking for their parents but they are diverted. While the older brother, maybe 8 is being tended to the little sister wanders out to search for her parents. She gets to the trauma room and she's so small she has to stand on tip toes to peer in. Right as she lifts herself a nurse scoops her up. That scene always chokes me up. ***Spoiler Alert*** The parents both end up dying and the older brother is trying to stay strong for his sister who's looking at him instead of the doctor as things are explained. The boy wants to see them. The nurses have tried to clean up the faces of the parents as best they could. They doctor has already explained that there will be tubing etc present trying to prepare them for what to expect. As they head in hand in hand the little girl Julia runs out crying but the boy walks in and looks at his father. He's struggling but strong. When he sees his mother he finally relinquishes control and leans over her, holding her as he sobs. This story gets overshadowed by the shocking ending of Lucy and Carter getting stabbed but I think it's one of the most understated and poignant mini storylines of the series

Also, Kerry coming out to Romano was a great scene.
@scottw67049 ай бұрын
That was a good scene but kind of expected so it didn't really have the impact the other scenes had. Now if Kerry had slugged him, that might have made the list lol

The problem with including that one is that there's not one brief moment in that story that can be singled out - any single scene by itself would not stand on its own as a dramatic moment.

Carter and Greene were my favourite male characters in show my favourite episodes always had them at centre of it Favourite female characters were Abi and Lucy ( her death had me in tears ) I also liked Bob
@thomasr.alstad12882 жыл бұрын
When Bob reweald that she actually was a cardio and vascular surgeon from her homeland, Poland in eastern-europe. The fast thinking, her precision in the surgery and calm nature did show the nurses and the wife - what a great cardio-vascular surgeon she was..! 😯🤔👍 I wish they would had let her stay on in the show "ER", as "dr. Bob"..! ❤💗❤

I thought the scene where Luka is captured and praying and it saves his life because they say he is a Priest. One of the top 10 for me, and of course when Carter finds him alive.

Unfortunately, once Carter left, the show lost its magic. He was the last one still kinda keeping it special. The show should of ended a few seasons before it did and the rumored spin off with Dr.Green’s daughter as a doctor, would of been great to see. This show, like MASH and the Sopranos, was something special.

Always thought a show following Rachel as a doctor with Carter being her mentor would have been a great continuation.

Yeah rather than changing all the cast they should have keep Rachel's story put in the first place ,not showing for a few last mins in the ending of the show

@@tak1984 yep ,ER is the best there are other medical shows but no one even close to ER in terms of medical knowledge , storylines ,it's just perfect with so much loving character especially Dr carter
@nycot1074 жыл бұрын
The first step in getting treatment for a drug addiction is admitting that you have a drug addiction. Carter did not want to admit it at first, because the idea of going to rehab and facing his problem most likely scared him

emily schwellenbach unfortunately, it wasn’t as medically accurate as many think. Doctors not staying sterile, lab tests coming back in minutes(especially tox screens), and a few other things. Yes, it definitely shows the chaos of an ER department.

So many memories starting at the very first episode from Carol attempting suicide. Rosemary Clooney singing Christmas Carols wandering the halls. John Carter Grams passing over. Lucy dying right in front of Carter and him helpless to do anything. The Russian housekeeper helping to save a life. Mark Greens life and death. All of ER.....
