The solid sides on the seats in premium economy can be uncomfortable. If you can go business. Absolutely fantastic experience. If it’s a one off holiday treat yourself. At least one way. Dubai back to Australia in business is very rewarding as you are awake and can enjoy it especially the bar at the back of the plane. Truly a great experience back there.

Does your wife have a medical condition?, and has she been medically tested to have allergies?. I tried to by this ticket to Europe by flying the first leg in economy and the rest business. The airline would Not allow it.Why Not?. It seems as there is no real competition for flights originating in Australia.
@neilkowalski5472Күн бұрын
Favoritism? Really? Try suppy and demand! March to October summer time in the northern hemisphere (considering higher demand and ticket prices). When it's cold in Europe more people travel to Australia, so then you get the flight with better kit. But if you're looking for an amazing experience in flight, why did you book your ticket on BA? It definitely wasn't for the customer service, the food or just how amazingly clean BA planes are not...

Turkey not expensive country Turkey is often considered a budget friendly destination for tourists due to its lower cost of living compared to other popular tourist destinations, This is because the Turkish lira has a lower value compared to other currencies, making it more affordable for tourists to visit.

I paid $9287 for my QR flight this April 2025. Travel time estimated 24 hours and 25 minutes Mel-BCN. QR also have a shower shortage in their Doha business class lounge. I find the shorter travel time combined with the Q-Suite seating well worth the extra cost.
@basnuwan64362 күн бұрын
Malaysian Airlines seems a nice flight, Turkish Airlines though a little dated.
@kazaabitboll20262 күн бұрын
I don’t think the extra time is worth it. I want the shortest route. Having said that we flew Singapore Business to Europe and back last year. The seats we dreadful, so hard and you had to lie on an angle twisted to the side when the bed was flat. Another reason to not fly with these carriers is the Malaysian and Turkish government are very corrupt ( my opinion) and the training of the pilots and experience and supervision is well below that of say BA, Qantas or Singapore. So safety can be compromised.

Great review Dennis! I know you’ve been busy this year so I especially treasure seeing new videos from you. I also love these « total trip » reviews, with great insight into the logistical issues that can arise when flying different airlines on the same journey. All the best to you and your family for the holiday season!

I'm torn. For six years, I lived the high life in First and Business class, courtesy of the company dime, jetting to Malaysia and Europe three times a year. Now, paying my own way for leisure, I can’t justify shelling out double or triple the price for a seat that gets to the same destination at the same time. Let’s be honest-no matter how fancy the menu sounds, it’s all just microwave reheats in the air! That extra $6K? Better spent on plush hotels, spa days, and indulgent meals at hatted restaurants. At 6’3”, I endure Economy harder than most, but I do splash out on legroom. My next flight to Madrid on Turkish? $1900 with FOC overnight layovers, exit rows and extra legroom all the way-we'll see!

Adelaide really is a poorly planned airport, the only airport I have ever been to that the drop off area is 200 plus metres from the terminal, and their "lounge" as you go through immigration is very average, I understand they are a tiny city and not many airlines bother flying there but the people of that town deserve better.

I did exactly this combo at the start of the year. Loved the Malaysian part of it. Wasn’t too keen on Turkish legs. I felt that staff at Malaysian were nicer, it was more comfortable (I had the solo window seat). Their Satay service is fab. The amenity kit I still use for cables etc. Lounge in KL is “OK”. I found the lounge situation OK heading to OZ, much more confusing on the way back from OZ. The TK 2-3-2 setup I find tired and the staff were not that nice TBH. The The lounge in Istanbul is mad, but also rammed. Going to Europe I got a free lounge cabana due to the long layover. That was great for a nap and some privacy. Like a free hotel room. The European leg of TK service are superior to all other European airlines. If the price is right, it’s a no brainer. Only problem is to claim the FF points. I was hoping that flying on TK ticket all the way, I would get points for the whole journey. You don’t.

BA is a disgrace. I honestly would much rather pay for economy in other airlines (eg Cathay, Singapore,) than Club for BA. From Economy to First, I've tried every cabin class BA offers and I am left disappointed every single time. It's about value - and BA never delivers on that.

Hi there, I notice many reviews when entering aircraft with Cabin Crew insight or when serving food by Crew that the video image points down at the floor. Have reviewers such as yourself done this on purpose or does KZbin automatically edit these videos? Cheers
@DennisBunnikTravels3 күн бұрын
Hi, good spotting. I do it out of respect of the crew - don't want to film them without their permission. So when boarding I film my hand touching the side of the aircraft and then my foot stepping onto the plane. So it is done this way by the KZbinr rather than YT. Cheers Dennis

Like you, I have opted for price over time and booked TK, but through Singapore. PER-SIN-PER I have booked business class flights using Qantas classic rewards. I’m flying Turkish Airlines business class to Budapest and back from Istanbul. TK is approximately $5,500 compared to around $10,200 if I did the whole trip with QF, EK or QR. The extra time taken with layovers I consider well worth the lower fare paid. The TK B777 might be the old layout, but it is still comfortable, and their service is really excellent.

Great review I like how you ALWAYS touch the door before entering the plane. Reminds me of tapping the door frame before going out to play a game of footy. Back in the day 😅 All the best to you both. I flew with Gulf Air last year in Business class from BKK-ATH & back with quick layovers in BAH showers were included 😂 Hope you have many happy journeys ahead.

Turkish Airlines is not exactly a cheap Business Class
@DennisBunnikTravels3 күн бұрын
Agree but in this instance they are offering one of the cheapest business class fares out of the Australian market. Out of Turkey they would be the most expensive carrier. Also their fares flying all the way with Turkish Airlines ex Australia are much more expensive than these combo fares with Malaysia Airlines.

I need to fly Europe to Perth several times a year. Have been trying to save money by flying business to Asia, then economy to Perth. It does normally not seem possible to do this on one ticket, thus have to deal with luggage in Asia. At Changi they are so efficient and will reroute it from the transfer desk airside. Kuala Lumpur was terrible. No such service. And then, having got our luggage found that we weren’t allowed back airside until 3 hours before the flight! On our return trip from Perth to Europe our baggage was simply left at Perth. Thus followed 5 extremely stressful and tiring days, while we endured their promises, such as it will be on the next flight, it will arrive when you do etc., none true. We had 12 hours in KL and spent nearly all of it chasing luggage. We went through all of this precisely to benefit from Turkish Airlines Basel to KL in business (and we loved the Turkish airline part), but 3 weeks later I’m still exhausted from the Malaysia airlines treatment.
@DennisBunnikTravels3 күн бұрын
Agree - trying to save money with two separate airline tickets is a nightmare because of the luggage issues. This combo fare allowed luggage to be checked right through to our final destination.

We flew a few legs with Malaysian earlier this year, and were disappointed with many aspects of their inflight service, the KL lounge was in a state of disrepair, and while the overall airport was nice, it could really use a clean. I'm more saddened to see the dated seating layout on Turkish too, as they have a very positive reputation. Not sure if I'd try it if I were laying out the cash.
@DennisBunnikTravels3 күн бұрын
Give Malaysia Airlines about a year and all of their flights from Australia should feature their brand new A330neo business class. Hopefully by then their lounge and airport renovations will be finished too. Until then i agree their product is a bit dated.
@BushTerrors3 күн бұрын
@DennisBunnikTravels thanks Dennis. I knew MAS had newer planes and business suites coming, so that can only be positive. But if Turkish continue to use aged aircraft out of KUL we might have to look at their SYD options instead. Love the videos.

We flew in April 2024 from Perth to Geneva with a batic/ Turkish combo. Batic to/from kl was econ and average but Turkish BC was excellent. Only 3800 AUD per person all in. 100 bucks more than Emirates/Qatar econ for the same destination. Points to note are that Turkish offer free 3star accom to econ passengers for stopping over in Istanbul and 5star accom for BC passengers. Also aussies need a visa for turkey. Seems they still hold a grudge.
