Hotest day I ever did a 100 amp setvice it was 104 degrees for an cheap ignorant cousin that me & my dad did not charge any labor. We asked het for a cup of water twice but ended up drinking warm water out if s gardrn hose. End of job we took off our work boots and sat on her chairs with our firty feetnin her kiddie pool. Following month dhe wanted us to vome over thst day to run a line to s window air conditioner. Told her we were nooked up gor restnog summer.

Another great video Ron. You should do a video with Craig Migliaccio (ac service tech). He also lives in NJ. It would be great if you could do the electrical part of installing a split system where you show the electrical circuit from the panel to the outdoor disconnect and Craig shows the actual HVAC installation. I actually do both electrical and HVAC at my current job. Both you and Craig have been inspirations to me for forging ahead and getting both of my licenses. Thanks for the great informative videos.

Amazing the ultility company has the ability to disconnect your power at a smart meter but can not install a $5 lockable lever to manually open meter relay contacts so customer had to spend mega bucks to have the NEC mandated outdoor service disconnect. Would never want my branch cirvuit breakers being outdoors nor would my senior citizen customers.Nice neat work. Nice to see you did not instsll another garbage ge jumk panel. Last two GE brand new panels I had to work on neithet door would open more then 75 degrees even after removing them.

Since the ground and neutral are bonded in the outside disconnect enclosure, shouldn't the grounds and neutrals be kept separate in the breaker panel? In the video it looks like they are connected to the same bus bar.

I just did one of these! I'm still editing my video, lol. I did not do rebar in my pad because it's so small, you know? Overkill. The indoor units are so light, I figure they are fine just with some plastic anchors in the drywall. The lineset is also helping to hold the unit up kinda. I went with a different brand than Mr. Cool and I cut the lineset and reflared the ends to make a nice professional install. Do it right the first time, right?

Great install, take the unit down, lower the backing plate and cover the hole. Concrete pad is golden! I use a low-cost frame to mount to the pad and then mount the Outdoor unit to the frame. I'm doing a 220VAC 24K BTU, 3 cassette (indoor units) mini split. Do you plan to use any special type of breaker to protect the unit from lightning, loss of power, or other electrical transients that might damage the unit(s)? Thanks for the video!
