Good Q, only one way to find out brother
@lucashickey5795 сағат бұрын
Why would anyone choose this dumpster fire of a football program? Unless he just doesn’t have any good offers there’s no way I would come to Kstate over most other power 4 programs
@JoeTillery5 сағат бұрын
Dumpster fire is insane. Klieman’s 47-28 at Kansas State with multiple NFL Prospects developed under him. Your recency bias is showing if you think the program is some horrible hellscape. I get the team ended on a low point. They still finished 8-4. Concepcion is coming from a team that missed bowl eligibility and had awful QB play all year. I get you’re upset, but dumpster fire just isn’t accurate lol. Not like we empty Matt Rhule lmao

This is a question, not a prediction. Will Avery hit the next portal window? Why you ask? Two of his present (Brown) and future targets (Cure) are &/or maybe leaving K-State. One is Avery's roommate, Brown, and the other is a good friend, Cure, do they know something?!? Then there's Avery's lack of making the progress everyone thought he'd make during the year. Here's just one example, he seems to struggle finding the open receiver(s). This, in my opinion, is a coaching issue, not Avery's. There's the question and a few reasons to wonder and maybe worry!?!
@JoeTillery9 сағат бұрын
I would doubt it to be honest. He’s K-State through and through. If he didn’t flirt with other teams and consider leaving when stuff was tough the first time around without Klein, I expect him here for the long haul unless something happens to Klieman. Anything’s possible but I’m set on Avery returning. And if not, I’m the leader of the Blake Barnett train

Can we grab an new O coordinator in the portal too

Changes will be made one way or another. Wether that’s bringing someone else in or adding someone in the booth/sideline they’ll get it figured out

If Cure ends up going to Oregon, that could free up some NIL $$$ to help bring in Concepcion.

@kittlee374710 сағат бұрын
Thank you again Joe! Great insight as always. One thing I would like to get off my shoulders and it’s been bothering me for a while now regarding both K-State men’s football & bball teams. Both teams had a down year last year, although football finished on a high note. The football team sputtered towards the end of this season and had a disappointing finish (bowl game pending). Basketball was off to a slow start this year, but has had a promising last 2 weeks (we’ll see how they progress as this season develops). I’m most definitely gonna get backlash for this from K-Staters but to each their own: I hope more fans can be more appreciative and supportive of both of our teams. As an alum and diehard K-State fan myself, it’s exhausting that we have K-State fans who are fickle and are in the mindset of do or die every week and when the teams don’t perform well, it becomes a K-State Apocalypse for them. I take to heart what coach Tang says that “winning is hard” and if it was easy, we could put anyone out there with a uniform to play, whether it be a toddler or elderly. It’d be one thing if our teams were getting blown out by double digits and they played with no effort each & every game. We are emotional creatures indeed, but I feel like people, especially those within our fan base just let their emotions get the better of them and they wanna jump ship when things go south. In my eyes, those are not true K-Staters. In college sports this day & age, the NIL and transfer portal has made it extremely difficult for teams to navigate and to be cohesive year in and year out. Fans & supporters seeking instant success or one-year turnarounds are delusional. It does happen, but it is hard to do and I truly believe that there is some luck involved when it does happen ( Example: Tang’s 1st year). As a fan, I do strive for both teams to be excellent and perform at their very best every game. But beggars can’t be choosers and when things aren’t going well and we’re not getting the results we’d like, my message to the fan base is: be more supportive & appreciative of our teams. I’ll probably get responses like “Oh you’ve settled for Mediocrity” or “Why can’t we be like Bama or some other SEC team nonsense”. They can say what they will. I’m just here to say that K-Staters: If you are what you think you are, stay the course and support our teams through thick & thin. And if you can’t then you don’t deserve to be a part of the K-State Fam & Nation. If you’ve read this all the way through thank you for enduring my KZbin rant lol. This will be my first & last. Be good Joe and keep on doing your thing my friend!

A fan can support and expect more than the qb running for his life in multiple games, a horrible special teams performance, and too many turnovers.
@JoeTillery9 сағат бұрын
Appreciate you sharing your thoughts! We’re all passionate Wildcats at the end of the day! It's tough to see any program have a down year, but I totally agree with you there. This year especially fans have been extremely volatile. I share a lot of your thoughts on this topic, people are tough to convince and everyone’s a fan in their own way but it definitely puts a damper on things. Appreciate you and your love for Kansas State

Never having heard of him before the Pop Tart bowl, I remember watching him and thinking, why is it so hard for us to recruit a freakin’ stud like that? It would be so awesome to have “the brothers” here catching passes together.

Think you’re spot on there my friend!
@kyezek5245 сағат бұрын
We have the talent on offense but I think sometimes we failed to execute. Avery is def young and still learning. Sometimes he didn't progress through his reads and would miss the open man or he would throw a poor pass. We also had more dropped passes than you'd like to see. Obviously, we had some snapping and holding issues in the kicking game. But I think the biggest problem was play calling. At times it would just baffle me.
@charliestovall540612 сағат бұрын

amen brother, we are playing for a better record, a better bowl, and representation of how good the team is now. We can get to that magic 10-game level by winning out, and it would be greatly satisfying to deny the Cyclones on their home field.

@tannerdavis44702 күн бұрын
I don’t blame him for leaving. If I was a receiver I would HATE to play in a Lincoln Riley offense. His offense is horrible for receivers. Riley has no clue how to put together an offense that can do anything other than run the ball and drop the ball off to tight ends.
@JoeTillery2 күн бұрын
Conor Riley offense haha, Lincoln Riley may be option No. 1 for like everyone in the country. But I totally know what you’re going for no sweat. I get that people are gonna leave but I also don’t see the offense as bad enough for some mass exodus after ten wins. My guess is Jayce would have left wether it was CK or anyone calling plays. Sometimes dudes just hit their breaking point. Plus (fingers crossed) seems like Riley’s getting better on the sidelines. We’ll see tonight tho

It,s one thing to transfer out .. but the thing of it is not the K State way !!! He could of waited until After this game .Maybe he looks to look at all the easy drops he had but K State has Always been a run first pass second with their offense.Good luck at Texas A & M
@JoeTillery2 күн бұрын
Agreed. Still think he ends up at FSU, but A&M wouldn’t shock me
@jjh312 күн бұрын
He is NOT a true star. He’s an ok receiver that may or may not block, and may or may not catch the ball. He’s definitely replaceable.
@JoeTillery2 күн бұрын
You’re right. He’s good by default as we needed someone to step up. Think he can be a special player, but don’t think it clicked this year and he’s choosing to cut ties
@kyezek5242 күн бұрын
To be fair, Jayce is a good player, especially at the deep ball. However, I feel we don't throw deep often enough to stretch the field and use his abilities. And at times he was open deep and was overthrown. Maybe it's best if he goes somewhere that throws the ball 30 times a game. You can't knock him if he's doing what's the best for him or at least thinks he's doing what's best for him. His consistency has been an issue and wherever he goes he needs to realize that he needs to work hard.
@JoeTillery2 күн бұрын
I agree. Think it’s best for both sides. It’s a good time to part rather than sticking around too long and it becoming overly toxic. Can absolutely live with this

Think you’re right about that. He’s a solid wideout who helps us at his ceiling he’s just not very consistent and doesn’t help much blocking for DJ and the backs. Feel similar to how I did with RJ Garcia

Absolutely. Especially with roster cuts coming too. Dudes have to find a home early otherwise they may be left out. Will have to wait and see I suppose
@JoseCastillo-sd2hv2 күн бұрын
I don't think schools have time to be developmental schools anymore. Looks, these kids aren't dumb. They see what is going on around them. Kids play for teams that can put them in the pros. State's current coaching staff doesn't have a stellar record of putting kids in the pros with meaningful careers.
