Very interesting, very informative and most important the nice way of explaining coupled with typical British sense of humour! In my life, I did about 400 Import/Export LCs, many of them were Back-to-Back LCs, which were not mentioned! We neither issued nor received any Transferable LC!

@ABTS7 сағат бұрын
Thank you very much. Travelling is perhaps less required these days with the internet and video calls but in my opinion, face to face meetings are always advantageous when you can. You build stronger relationships that way and people appreciate the time you’ve taken to actually see them.

WHAT IS THE COST FOR A 1,200,000.00 LETTER OF CREDIT?
@ABTS16 күн бұрын
Hello, it's hard to give you specific costs because much of the cost will come down to how well you can negotiate with your bank. Even though banks have a published cost for an LOC, you should always negotiate a better deal. There's too many variables involved to give you an exact cost.

No, not particularly. You can open a business as a sole trader or limited company. There’s no particular risk as far as limited funds in a business bank account, as long as you have enough to trade with. Hope this helps.

In my understanding, a security account, is a means by which you can invest. It’s not usual to raise a letter of credit from such an account. However it would be something to discuss with your bank as far as the mechanics of it.

One thing that is also important in Freight Forwarding - and also something most customers see fit... is being most user-friendly with IT systems and such, you know everything from booking to delivery ETA's. A company like DSV contantly invest heavily in IT systems, and that's why most companies prefer DSV as a transport partner alone on their IT systems. You may be a middle-man business and hard-working, but sometimes you have to open your eyes and face the market norms and adapt to it.

What are your thoughts on e-commerce, logistics, and marketing?
@ABTS6 ай бұрын
Hi Densly, sorry for the delayed reply. Ecommerce and emarketing I have to confess is not my specialty. It was really before my time so I had to deal with much more bricks and mortar and when it came to advertising, it was newspaper ads, yellow pages, magazine ads and taking up more ads inside some of the old directories specifically for logistics. It really was a different time and a different game. Nowadays, the world is quite literally at your feet through your laptop and a mobile. You can get your name out there with enough perseverance and determination through the various social platforms now, setup shop online with platforms like Shopify and with sites like vujis.com/, you even have access to contact details of buyers all over the world. So really, it's a different world and I see it now as one with so much opportunity so many different ways to market yourself and if I was to do it all over again as a young man, I would really attack it head on. All the best.
