I'm planning on heading to Aviator ppg for training this winter. I know they use Ozone wings. If I do well enough during training I'm hoping to walk away with a spyder 3. However, I hear good things about this wing also. Have you flown a spyder 3 and how would you compare to this? Thanks
@MitchG
@MitchG 5 күн бұрын
I have flown a spyder. The spyder is the easiest launching glider ever which makes learning easier. However, it's weakness is its lightweight fabric. They just don't last as long and they rip open much easier. During training you will figure out if you are a talented beginner or if you would benefit from the spyders launching ability. I like to say, you can always make a glider easy to launch with better technique but you can't make lightweight fabric more durable. Look at a dudek solo as well. It's more modern than the universal but high quality like all dudek gliders

@@MitchG edit: I asked that question without watching the whole video. You literally talked about it lol. Thanks tho. I'm sure they also have roadsters 3's available also. I have look at some launching spots around my area. It's hard to tell if they will work tho because I have zero experience. Everything is mostly pasture land. So it's grass but not soft lawn grass. I'd also maybe try launching from gravel from time to time but I don't know if that's a terrible idea or not

I had the privilege of watching on of these fly over me at low altitude in La Luz NM back in the 1980's. My clearest memory of that moment was the pilot had a smile from ear to ear. Very cool indeed.

Great care to obviously block the view of the engine! WHY!!! I could use some help to save a lot of expensive experimentation; that’s what brought me here. NOBODY seems to want to help! Whether it’s one big blade or 6 small ones, a certain amount of power : weight is required as a guideline for VERTICAL lift! Nice video but not helpful.
@MitchG
@MitchG 13 күн бұрын
Engine is a mz202 produces around 66hp. Then just build a reduction that keep the blade tips about 150-200mph less than the speed of sound. Then just build a rotor hub strong enough to withstand those forces. Then just build controls to articulate the rotor. Then a tail rotor to counter tq ect

@@MitchG Mitch, smallest helicopter I flew was Hughes 269 when I got a private rating, then the same TH55 training in flight school, then Huey's in the Army Guard, Flew in newer military helicopters as a passenger and old Russian helicopters the contractors were using as a passenger in OIF and OEF, when I was a contractor. I'm a crusty old 65 year old guy and have seen a lot of things...However, this video of you flying tops them all, I will come back and watch this video again every now and then. The bad assery is beyond super hero! You made made day. And then you built the damn thing...just magnificent!💯❤❤❤❤❤

Debería de plantear el implementar una cabina, esperemos y deseamos que no suceda pero de ocurrir un fallo en el rotor, las helices podrían provocarle daños al piloto como en el caso de Munna.
