There's only 1 episode left, and already I'm watching from the beginning again. I think I'll probably watch the Heart Killers series another 5 times❤🫰🏼🫰🏼🫰🏼

Shows I’m currently hooked on and would recommend: ThamePo, US, When it Rains it Pours, Perfect 10 Liners. You guys talked about all of them except When it Rains it Pours. Also watching Sangmin Dinneaw, but it’s not for everyone. Started Petrichor but fell off. Will probably go back and finish at some point.

I've been hate watching Fourever You. I love Cooheart & Bas, but I feel like Hill Ter's storyline dragged on for way too long. Perfect 10 Liners is okay, I hate Force's character, he's an a$$. But I love Gun & Yotha and can't wait for Fah & Wine. I like ThamePo, I love the whole getting the band back together story. So the romance feels like a bonus. Also Thame being an idol and having no idea how to be romantic kinda makes sense to me

Most of what I’ve heard about Fourever You has been about Maxky and Bas’s characters but just haven’t had capacity to tune in at all! Totally agree about Thame not knowing romance as an idol makes sense - all he really knows is MARS.

I have to admit that I was initially quite skeptical of Perfect 10 Liners, but it has won me over. One element that I think works in its favor is something that might seem a bit off putting to some is the sheer number of episodes. But I actually think that that helps it in a strange way. Given that the main pairings have only eight episodes helps eliminate some of the bloat that some standard twelve episodes shows fall into. Hence there is little to no "filler" material. It just feels more concise.

I’m with you with the Your Sky brainrot. I even started to read the book because I’m going to miss the gang so bad. I’m holding on to the fact that PorTeetee were the chosen pair in DMD Friendship Reality S2 to have their own series soon, I hope they adapt LeeGhlai’s novel and we’ll get to see our beloved FahRak, RealHia and the rest of the gang. Also ThomasKong were supposed to be in The Next Prince but got replaced by NetJJ due to their schedules, so now they’re probably ready to return for LeeGhlai spin-off (delulu until true)

I was also locked in to the point of trading the novels. I LOOOOVED the Lee and Ghlai novel, I would be so happy if they adapted it. I really just hope to see all of the cast in new projects because they’re all so great!!

I also have been watching and very much liking The Heart Killers, ThamePo, and Ossan’s Love (Thailand), and I will also put in a positive word for Perfect 10 Liners. For all the trepidation people were expressing before it began, I think it has turned out to be a pretty enjoyable series, and that includes the ForceBook section. My only real previous experience with them has been Only Friends, and from what I’ve gathered from other people, even if their story here is similar to previous shows they have done, this time it’s working really well. All the side characters are really strong as well, and the humor is landing more often than not. Characters from the first eight episodes do continue to show up in the PerthSanta episodes, and I get the sense that will be true going into the eight episodes that feature Junior and Mark. So overall, I think it’s a show worth giving a shot to.

Get on Perfect 10 Liners, please Start with episode 9 and follow the Perth Santa story arc. Those boys are killing it and New has followed the red thread back to his best self. Loved your discussion but there was a 10 line hole through the middle of it.
@LoveCastTheBLPodcast
@LoveCastTheBLPodcast 5 күн бұрын
The arcs are all connected somewhat though right? Since the group is all intermingled as friends/code line peers?

Yes they are interwoven, but they can stand alone as three separate eight episode BLs. If you start at Ep. 9, it is as if Perth and Santa are dropped into the middle of an established yet familiar New world. They bring fire, and alchemy happens. Santa is a revelation, emerging from Cooheart’s shadow to eat up every second of his screen time, while Perth inhabits his complicated character at a soul level. Please watch it and help spread the PerthSanta/New gospel.

Trigger warning for Alexa, though. Prepare to have mixed feelings about the AouBoom characters. But it is worth the pain. I don’t think we realized that New hasn’t been complete without OhmFluke, and it feels like he has finally found them “reincarnated” in PerthSanta.

Kayla - love how you talked about being whelmed and not like super loving a lot this year. I felt the same. I think it's nice that the industry is big enough that like a show can be good and enjoyable and not like super ultra important. I think it's good to have just regular nice shows but it does make it difficult to watch so many when fewer and fewer shows seem to have the magic of some of the giants of the last few years Pixie - I wanna check out Our Youth to see how it compares to My Beautiful Man! I don't think Japan can do anything better than Kiyoi and Hira for me but I am curious! My Stand In - definitely one of my biggest surprises of the year. I only started watching because I saw a screengrab of Up in a black mesh shirt and that caught my attention then I started watching and was just wow, genuinely surprised. Poom as Joe just had me because I just wanna [REDACTED] respectfully. But yeah the characters and huge levels of toxicity were also surprising and kinda refreshing to get out of Thailand. Up really surprised me and Mek did as well, didn't know they could give me such awful characters that I wanted to see so much. My Top 5 of 2024: Century of Love My Stand In 4 Minutes Cherry Magic TH Dead Friend Forever Had a hard time with 4 and 5 - also could have done Peaceful Properties or The Trainee. But yeah I had to go look through my tumblr and texts to see what I was talking about this year lol 2024 seemed like a harder year to figure out my favorites than the last few years

I look forward to this episode each year! Next time I shall be patient, lol. I can agree with Pixie on My Stand-In - I only watched the first episode, but I wasn’t able to get into it at all. Same with Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo, which I LOVED (and unfortunely only just watched this year), but the editing could sometimes confuse the hell out of me and it took a lot of brain power to put together what was going on or why we got to where we were. Anyways! My list of 2025: 1. Anti-Reset (Tawian) - helped me get out of a very bad case of BL-block which is why I became so obsessed with it so quickly. Not a perfect story, but I loved the leads. 2. I Became The Lead in a BL Drama (Japan) - Made me laugh till I cried, super over the top and dramatic, but that’s what I love most about Japanese BLs. 3. Takara’s Treasure (Japan) - Really good plot and really good actors. Fell in love with it immediately. 4. Century of Love (Thai) - my introduction to DaouOffroad and they did NOT disappoint. I love these reincarnation/soul-searching stories, I hope we get more. 5. Two Worlds (Thai) - Very surpising one on my list, but I really enjoyed it overall. Nat’s acting has improved greatly, and it’s telling in this series. Honorable mentions: My Love Mix Up (mostly for Half and Mudmee who I loved to death), This Love Doesn’t Have Long Beans, We Are, Cherry Magic Thailand, and Sahara Sensei to Toki-Kun.

I always enjoy your annual Top BLs of the year episode. Your different insights are useful to me, and I often agree with many on your lists. This year I am including two shows that technically finished in 2025 (Our Youth and See Your Love), but because they both finished within the first eight days of January, I feel it is okay to include them in my Best of 2024. I fully agree with Pixie regarding Our Youth. It is now my favorite Japanese BL (and I have watched over fifty series/movies from Japan) and one of my very favorite shows overall. I personally struggled with multiple characters in My Stand-In and I ended up dropping it, and I found it challenging to handle the trauma in Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo, so that show is still on hold for me. For me, this has been my favorite year for BLs. I really enjoyed the variety and quality of the shows. 1) Our Youth - Japan 2) Love in the Big City - South Korea 3) Jack and Joker: U Steal My Heart! - Thailand 4) The Sign - Thailand 5) See Your Love - Taiwan Honorable Mentions: 6) I Hear the Sunspot - Japan 7) Marahuyo Project - Philippines 8) Blue Canvas of Youthful Days - China 9) Unknown - Taiwan 10) Love for Love's Sake - South Korea 11) Only Boo! - Thailand 12) Monster Next Door - Thailand

I have long been a Yin and War fan and never thought any work from them would not make my favorites list. It pains me to say it, but for me Jack and Joker was awful. It tried to be too many genres at once and none of it worked for me. I did not get the humor at all, especially when it bounced from serious to funny in one scene. My favorites are My Stand In, The Time of Fever. let Free The Curse Of Taekwondo, Love For Loves Sake, and Love in The Big City.

Does anyone else go through all the BLs they watch and rewatch them many times? I loved TharnType. If I watch that, then I have to watch TharnType 7 Years of Love, Love By Chance 1 and 2, Don't Say No and then they all spiral to other shows each of the actors have been in and everything written by Mame. If I watch Tiawanese BL HisStory then I have to watch all of them. I'm a sympathy cryer so I always get attached to the characters and their struggles whether it's the 1st time watching or the 20 or 30th time. I couldn't give you a favorite, because Almost every one I've watched I've found something to love or learn from.

This is a very interesting podcast. As A citizen in rural America, there is not much diversity or social consciousness where I live. I fell in love with k dramas and k-pop during covid 19 shutdown and eventually bl dramas As a middleaged white woman here, there isn't anyone to talk about my shows or music. My adult children and husband not only have no interest, but complain about my music and think I'm weird. Being brought up in church and in a small rural community there are a lot of things not talked about or talked about judgmentally. I love that people and dramas are able to share these things and enjoy them wholeheartedly. I also watched all 3 seasons of His Man and Dabit is probably my favorite person from the 3 seasons. I enjoy watching his youtube content and am enjoying that he is sharing his life journey. I think his opening up on his heartaches on air was a turning point for me as well because it lead to me soul searching how I would feel and respond to my sons or anyone I know if they were to bring home a same sex partner. It has made me much more compassionate and understanding, as well as aware of the emotional and social issues people who have what society has traditionally deemed as non traditional go through.

I don’t see nearly as many series as you do, so I have fewer to choose from. If we are taking series that ended in 2024 that I have seen every episode of, my top five would be: 1. Cherry Magic (Thailand) (number 4 in my all-time BL list) 2. Wandee Goodday (which I personally thought got better as it went on) 3. Last Twilight (the ending didn’t bother me as much as it did a lot of people, though there were a couple of moments that I found problematic) 4. The Trainee (one of the most underrated series of the year for me) 5. My Love Mix-Up (Thailand) (an unpopular opinion, I know) Honorable mentions are Only Boo!, which I also really loved, and Jack & Joker, which I can’t give a final score to because I still haven’t seen the last episode.

Great ep! My top 5 (of shows that came out in 2024 at least) is probably Jack & Joker, Century of Love, We Are, Wandee Goodday, and Kidnap, in that order, but also The Heart Killers is shaping up to possibly be my favorite BL of all time, so really it's my actual #1 even if the whole show hasn't aired yet. 😂 Things still could go downhill tbf but I'm optimistic.

Time-travel is also "Absolute Zero" - it had story holes but the acting was one of the most incredible of any thai show. Acting wise also "180 degrees longitude passes through us" was great. But I don't dig GMMTV shows, because mostly it's an advertisment with some BL in it, and mostly it's too childish and too stupid. "Only Friends" was at least a good show, but nothing exordinary besides being messy, but for me still a bit shallow... The only GMMTV show I really liked in 2024 was also "Only Boo!" not because the script was so great, but the young actor Keen playing "Moo" did an incredible job and was the show. Hope their new shows this year will be better, but their cuteness was way above 10 :) And hands down for japanese adaption, most series are much better than the mangas. And I agree on Cherry Magic :) But I didn't like thai version which was the most ad heavy show ever and the overacting on the second couple was sooo cringe and that annoyed me. I also felt that the NewTay did not have the chemistry they had before. Same with GeminiForth in "My Love-Mix Up (Thai)". Dark Stuff: Nothing will beat "Happy of the End" - which surprised me :) With the only intro which did not give anything away of the series :)

I was pleasantly surprised by how good the show was. The story, cinematography and acting really complimented each other and the final product was amazing. This bl is a solid 4.5/5 for me and ended up being one the my favs from 2024. I'm usually the type to watch fluffy bls, so the discourse around Jack and Joke having no chemistry due to them not kissing for the first half of the show really threw me off. This is one the best Thai bl's to come out this year when it comes to chemistry. The performance both Yin and War give was amazing, and as you guys said, you don't need 30 kisses an episode to prove two character have chemistry. Yin and War being able to potray the amount of tension between Jack and Joke without relying on kissing just shows how great both of them are at acting.
