i will say, your video still be helping us new dodge owners 9 years later. just picked up a 2000 2500 3/4 ton 4WD for $600. runs and drives great! except this damn carrier bearing. thank you again!

That tube was a heavy duty goodyear tube, common in the 1960s so it was probably a replacement. They do make replacement valve stems that glue on like a patch, those goodyear tubes where well made so I would have kept it for things like a swim tube.

Another thing you can do is install a volt meter in the dash that will show 13.8 volts if the alternator is charging.

take a inline cut off wheel, cut both sides of the bearing frame by the flange that bolts up. slide the steel off the rubber then take your air hammer and knock the retainer off. then air hammer the bearing assembly off the shaft. repeat to replace new bearing.

Just exactly what you did with the small idiot light was what I did just a couple days ago. Light stayed on when running I then touched the #1 wire with 12 volts power and the light stayed off while running. I'm hoping to find the old time Idiot light setup from the 1960 1975 erra tractor.I think my old Ford 4000 4 cylinder has an Idiot light. But if I don't have an Idiot light I'll just straight wire the #1 alternator post to the ign "on" side of the ignition Only giving 12 volts when ignition is turned on..... GREAT video.....

That'd be a temporary jack, should probably use some bricks or lumber too (or a jack stand) just in case.

Awesome video even though it’s eight years old it’s still extremely relevant I have the same exact issue going on if it only works in the high setting the resistor for the blower motor needs to be replaced which is what I am doing today blower motor squeals like a stuck pig but I think a little dielectric grease will fix that problem

What are the connections, the spoolmatic 30 A has a dc motor the WC IIA and spoolmatic guns are AC, they have no bridge rectifier within, we don't care how they go, just let us know how the connections are made, we'll figure out the rest.
