Ill-conceived promotional video, a total mess of flying-hi visuals together with horror movie and totally psychedelic background music... Such a horrific positioning very well explains why the SM failed in the US...

I don’t believe the SM failed in the USA. They sold over 2000 of them in a 16 month period which, for a basically unknown brand, with an expensive complex car was quite a feat. The fact that Citroen decided to not federalize it for ‘74 for the new bumper height rules is what doomed it to failure.
