I need some help, my baby who is 7 weeks old is sleeping 5-6 hrs stretches at night from 8pm to about 2:30am and want to continue sleeping. I am strictly breast feeding and need help with should I wake my baby up at 2:30am to feed the baby or should I let the baby continue to sleep and pump at this time. My breast feel enormous and full but I am confused on what to do. I have not found many videos to help with this transition. As of now I have been waking my baby feeding him and putting him back to bed. Where he then feeds 3 hrs later. He is very alert during the day and will only take a couple of 10 min naps. Thank you for the advice in advance!!

Hi there, we can't answer this because we don't know what this baby's weight is, and if they're maintaining their weight curve but the safe thing to do is to wake them up around 2:30 am and feed. This helps relieve your engorgement, helps keep baby hydrated and satiated. This is a great stretch of sleep for this age and you're doing great. FOr the naps, in the daytime you want to try to initiate sleep at around 1 hour of being awake at this age. Our book or Newborn online class would find very helpful in guiding you!

Gee it’s like everything I told my wife would happen if she didn’t put him in the crib in the beginning and now we are approaching 1 year and have gone through the worst sleep of my entire life because my wife has created awful sleep habits

My 8 months baby is not sleeping well. He used to sleep at 8 pm and wake up in between for feeding only. But now he is not sleeping. I try to make him sleep in my lap and he is pretty good but as soon as I put him in his crib, after 2 min he just opens his eyes.. not sleeping even for 30 minutes. So exhausted. He is not even sleeping in daytime.

He is very aware of his surroundings now and protesting moving away from you. The trick will be to help him fall asleep in the space he is to be sleeping and avoid the transfer. I go over this all in the book! www.amzn.com/B08WQ2J8MZ

Hi! My baby is 1 month old and refuses to nap or sleep at night unless it's on me or next to me. She hates being swaddled and cries bloody murder until i take her out of it. Transferring does nothing cause of her startle reflex that i can't calm since she won't swaddle 🥲 help 😭 i have 2 other kids that need me too and i feel like i cant get anything done

One question how many naps on average a newborn takes during the day? How to determine when is bedtime? My baby is 8 weeks and she won’t go down for the night before 9p.
@HelpingBabiesSleep26 күн бұрын
4 to 6 hours a day - number not as important as total cumulation and 8 weeks with a 9 pm bedtime is very normal. It will slowly creep to 8 around 12 weeks and then 7 pm around 4 months. Due to circadian rhythm maturing and them producing their own melatonin around 10-12 weeks.

The E.A.S.Y. Method is crap!!!!!! It goes against common sense! It is turning young couples against their parents/grandparents who knew how to raise children correctly. You don’t play with a baby and then expect it to go to sleep! You rock it and feed it. Chemicals in the breast milk make the baby sleep naturally. This has been going on for thousands of years. The E.A.S.Y. Method has been around for five minutes!

OUr newborn is 3 and a half weeks.. and can stay up for 3 upto 6 hours.. He is a terror. My wife is breastfeeding, and he will latch on, feed for 10 minutes, and go half asleep after 10 minutes. Then we go to put him down and he goes bananas and screams until he goes again on the boob. Even after feeding on and off like this for 3 hours straight, afterwards with a full bloated belly, and 3 diaper changes, he still doesnt go to sleep.. My wife is at her wits end.. The moments he sleeps only stretch for MAXIMUM 1 hour..
@HelpingBabiesSleepАй бұрын
Please reach out to an IBCLC for some help. This isn't regular newborn behavior. Bloated belly is not a good sign nor is the falling asleep 10 minutes into feeding.
@ageofrayaАй бұрын
Nope. Just lay down, boob the baby, and ninja roll your ass away. Jump back in bed and boob them again when you see them coming out of that first sleep cycle to help connect those cycles. Y'all complicated the sh!t out of parenting (yes, they all eventually wean and move out of your bed, don't be daft)

My little dude sleeps alone at night easy peasy, but during the day he refuses to be alone at 6 weeks old.

I say there's two steps to sleep training. 1- teach them to sleep on their back in a crib or bassinet. 2-teach them to extend that through the night. People who contact sleep or rock to the point of sleep teach a baby a sleeping habit leaving the child to need to unlearn that habit and then learn level 1. It's better to work on level 1 earlier.

Hello, not trying to be argumentative, however there is a lot of literature showing that suppressing the Moro reflex negatively affects a babies motor development amongst other things. I feel this is important to review prior to promoting this predominantly western practice, or to also demonstrate the possible adverse effects. Thank you for your video nonetheless.

so the silent reflux went away on its own, when did it happen, after 1 year or before that? I don't understand why the author of this video always wants to know the birthdate of the child and an email address in order for me to download a pdf/video

Babies (below one year) cry for one of 3 reasons, change nappy, hurt/discomfort or hungry... To neglect this IS abuse in a form.

Was gonna ask the same as pp. what if baby falls asleep at the breast? We do the same thing in the same order every night and he always gets fed last so that he’s nice and full but 99% of the time he falls asleep at the breast.

Let me offer one possible solution since this video does offer any. Put your child to bed, and stand over your child for at least a half an hour, just to be sure. Do this multiple times until it finally takes. My daughter has been fighting sleep for nearly a week and I’m at the end of my tether.

My 2 month old is out down around 8-9pm and is awake all night. He’s up every 2-3 hours to feed. Is this normal? How can I get him to feed longer? He grunts all night after his first awake window which is 3 and a half hours. Sometimes he wakes up after an hour and 30 and won’t even make it the 2 hour stretch. Please help!

It's very difficult to say with such little information but have you read the book? Days and nights are very tied together at this age. Great sleep at this age is holistic - getting enough food in the daytime and timing. Then watch the video about "babies only sleeping in arms" and you might get more info from that one too - but the book on Amazon is agreat place to start. a.co/d/bJMtusj

hi maa'm , my baby is 14 months old . 1. can i give water instead of milk at night time? 2. if so should i use sippy or straw cup at night time? 3. should i make her sit , when giving water at night time ?
@HelpingBabiesSleep3 ай бұрын
She likely will reject water because the sleep association is with milk and nursing. Its' the action of sucking and taste that she uses to self soothe.
