Go to Options > General Controls > Camera Suite It's not exactly the same as a real 3rd person ship view, no targetting reticule, but you have full control of the camera and can switch controls so that you can pilot your ship/srv while still outside.

Its best to dodge the lightning. This was early in the thargoid emergence, so the weapons were not that good. You have to get AX weapons to do any damage other than minor to scouts. My T10 was also pretty well engineered, but im sure better ax pilots can do much better, especialy with the new guardian weapons. they really hit like a truck compared to the old human ax weapons. I personaly dont think the npc pilot does much good in a ax battle. must have the guardian hybrid fighters to do any damage. You should look up the Anti-Xeno Initiative, they have excellent guides to ax combat, ship build, thargoid tactics, stats and soo much more! And a very helpfull discord!

Unfortunately, you can’t change individual colors of the UI. To get the UI to be green like they have, you’re forced with light purple as the secondary color and red for non-hostiles on the radar.

The default color is Orange as the primary, blue as the secondary, and Ally Radar contacts are green with enemies as red.

i run mostly stock settings on mouse and keyboard. have Reset mouse on a thumb button on the mouse (thats probaly the most important one) and a few rebinds for combat, heatsink, shield cells, chaff. used makros for pips to switch setting quick

pretty much everything you said has to do with these specific circumstances. missiles exist in the game, its just not used in this particular players loadout. Any ship that is sufficiently small does also have to maintain high speed in order to survive. To elaborate: the player in question is using a federal corvette, so a pseudo-capital ship, not some small fighter. the main advantage that missiles bring is their ability to punch above their weight by utilizing chemical penetrators, as well as their ability to hit targets irrespective of the weapon platforms instability, or distance to target (within range). This means that missiles are favored by smaller vessels that don't have the capability to field large artillery, unstable and maneuverable vessels like aircraft, as well as vessels that expect to engage targets at extreme range. The federal corvette can only possibly fit into the last of these categories, which happens to be the least viable of all these reasons. In this category, most vessels choose to favor missiles, but wield both missiles and conventional munitions, but it is totally feasible that one might only wield conventional munitions, if the battlefield of the time makes it advantageous. As for the speed issue, again, this is a pseudo-capital ship. Do you really think it can dodge enemy fire at this range? Realistically it would position itself in the battlecruisers blindspots, rather than just ignore its fire, but this is a comperatively small complaint, as its entirely possible the battlecruiser was designed not to have any blindspots, a design choice that would bring its own downsides, but is perfectly feasible. Only actual complaint is that a ship of this size class is able to survive this close to a capital ship, not in the ways it goes about doing so. the ship is too big to dodge fire, but too small to realistically have sufficient defences to ignore enemy fire, meaning it should stick at longer range, where dodging is feasible.

It really is a shame that the ships jump away, explotions would be awesome to see. Yeah there is soo much more they could do with the game

Capital ships use different engine for ftl travel They use tritium, have far longer jump range than any of the current ships avalible to player can have and store and use far more fuel I dont think that our ships can enter whichspace with capital ones. The only option i see is attaching ourselfes to capital ships to travel as "one thing"

I am hoping admiral rank will someday unlock being able to buy a battle cruiser and possible give a permit to land on earth or mars, if earth-like worlds release at some point. Not that i want to grind the ranks, but it would give the last few ranks. Same thing for Achenars' earth-likes and the majestic-class interdictor.
