Elite Dangerous - Thargoids in Distress Call In HR 1185 (2.4)

A Distres Call was discovered in HR 1185, I fly out to check it out and find 2 thargoid ships scanning a wrecked Imperial Majestic Class Interdictor and several Imperial Cutters and Clippers. The Thargoid ships fly around scanning and picking up stuff before they leave . I follow them around, getting some views of the ships and the carnage left behind. Using A EDTracker for Headlook!

Ooo now THIS is food for thought!! Does this mean that there are different factions within the thargoids? Or could it just be an indication of rank, if they have such a thing! But if they do, why would hive insectoids have ranks? They'd all be linked, they obey the queen without fault. If there are different factions, then have we only seen one so far? Or are they all competing for human territory? If there are different factions, do they have differebt syles of ship? Do they use the same ships? How would identification work? Surely not just from an insignia? Oooooo! So much to pick apart and guess!!

Things are changing all the time. I hadn't seen an instance with more than 1 Thargoid until today. Over 2 videos I've seen 5 Thargoids, not normal lol.

PS3GameProductions I was just floating around non human uss's and jumped towards the Pleiades and got hyperdicted and scanned by one while one sat and watched. that was the day after the release of 2.4 and after me and a wing group took down a thargoid.

look at the formation of the capital ship and it's guards. they were destroyed without provocation. something's going on in the Galaxy. we best be prepared

The fleet was probably carrying a 'Black Box' or something of that sort, maybe a couple relics that they were transporting, so the Thargoids probably scanned and attacked on sight like they normally would if you have their technology in your cargo hold.

yeah no those burn marks were there already.. they are scanning for stuff. typically wont bother you unless you have something that belongs to em or if you have a certain type of weaponary or gear.

From what I've seen in other videos, they do. Typically, they'll run a scan on your ship (at which point, players use a xeno scanner to scan them as well) and then proceed to go about the rest of their day.

Those where interdictors, there are different variants that are more dangerous than others but they will all scan you and leave you alone if you are not hostile to them. If they are accompanied by scouts (which will shoot you on site) the interdictors will join in and fight you too along with the scouts.

i run mostly stock settings on mouse and keyboard. have Reset mouse on a thumb button on the mouse (thats probaly the most important one) and a few rebinds for combat, heatsink, shield cells, chaff. used makros for pips to switch setting quick
