Hi Dan. Hope you're well. Missed your lessons, especially the Gary Moore stuff. I saw Tommy at Sheffield City Hall a couple of years back and couldn't believe how good he is. He's Master of every genre. Got to meet him after the gig and he's a thoroughly nice guy who spent a lot of time signing stuff and chatting and has no air about him. A lot of guitarists aren't aware of him but if you get the chance to see him you'll probably go home and burn all of your guitars 👍

Hey mate, I'm doing good thanks. Yeah Tommy is a great dude, and it only seems like he gets better as he gets older! I'll get back to some new vids soon!

A brilliant masterclass on Gary's licks, but you also nail the tone. Superb!

Great explanation. This solo has been an issue for me. Might give it a shot playing it like you. Have you considered breaking down the 1987 Empty Rooms solo from Stockholm? I transcribed it around 12 years ago but couldn't quite figure out what he was doing during those really fast runs. There's also plenty of nuances in the solo that make it so great. It's probably his best solo. In fact, it's arguably the greatest improvised guitar solo of all time.

That lick that you said you got from Eddie Van Halen on Balance album, MAN, you play that like a MACHINE! IT doesn't even sound like a guy playing guitar, it sounds like a synthesizer, in arpeggio mode being sequenced, but with guitar Tone!.. I rewind it and watch your hands at least five times, but the transition from you showing it at Slow speed, up to Full speed, something happens- You go into an automatic mode!.. How long did you have to practice it,. To get it like that!?.. MAN, I'm dying to be able to DO that! It is definitely the COOLEST repeating LICK, I've EVER heard, better than Whole Lotta Love, Stairway, Highway Star, or Spirit of Radio!.. 👍👍👍👍👍
@luapsel772 ай бұрын
And you also have the guitar I first fell in love with!.. 15 years old, on the New Haven Green, I saw a band playing a free concert, playing Bad Company and Deep Purple- the guitarist had a black Les Paul like yours- only HE had a CREAM-colored pickguard and switch ring! Mmmm! I was HOOKED!.. and in Love with guitars- Bought a No-name Jaguar, Cherry-Black burst, with single coils and a chrome pickguard- COOL! I took apart my father's Scott 75W RMS tube audio amplifier, and ran wires, to a guitar cable- Made a plywood cabinet, and bought an Electro-Voice speaker, that was KICK- ASS!!.. I was on my WAY, to hearing loss!!
