Great lesson video! Rest in peace Gary Moore! I’m so grateful that I got to see him in concert back in the day

Many thanks for this! 👍I've tried to play this solo in many different ways with various awkward string choices here and there 😀but I find your way the most logical and "easy" way to play. Great solo but it's quite a challenge to get up to 100% speed with the fast solo run without missing a note.

I loved your video explaining gary moore's solos. This legend here in Brazil is not talked about much. But for me he was a great conductor. there's a song by gary called runing for the stone her solo is extraordinary you can make a video of it too i think it's phenomenal

Great explanation. This solo has been an issue for me. Might give it a shot playing it like you. Have you considered breaking down the 1987 Empty Rooms solo from Stockholm? I transcribed it around 12 years ago but couldn't quite figure out what he was doing during those really fast runs. There's also plenty of nuances in the solo that make it so great. It's probably his best solo. In fact, it's arguably the greatest improvised guitar solo of all time.

spot on tab and one of my favourite GM licks. Trying to learn another GM fave Law of the jungle, almost nailed but not quite, might be a good one if you haven't added it yet

Yup. This is more or less how I transcribed it myself. It’s all there if you listen to it. So many get these notes wrong. This is ”The Run” to get down if you want the solo to sound great. Gary Moore himself screws this solo up as well live so no worries 😅😂 This run is tricky because it changes during it (not just a straight up same run) and yes it goes by very rapidly Also another thing is to find the pattern that works for you, the notes can be found on other strings

Such a good point about finding the pattern/position that works for you. I don't think Gary did it like in this video, but fair enough we can't all be Gary Moore

Gary Moore never played the studio solo live ! I wonder how much of a composite the end part was in the studio? 🤔 Just discovered your channel, I love anything pre Blues era Gary. Great videos btw 👍
