These sold out pretty quickly in my area On the initial go around. Then they sat. Once word got out there was 17 year juice in the blend for this demand picked back up again. I got the last two bottles from small Mom pop liquor stores by me. I hope to get the same tasting notes and enjoyment.

Favorite are some of the Russel’s picks I’ve found (13/15 doesn’t count) and throw KY Spirit on there. Always keep one around

I got shanked by that Shenks, bought 2 of them. Refused to buy OGD 16 and it was just 150. Don’t know the others but this makes it easier to miss out on the FOMO on the HH 18.

OGD16 is bad, really bad. I spent $350 for a Jim Beam dinner and tasting with the Noe family. I could have bought anything I tried that night, little book, the reserves, KC18, or OGD16. I walked out with a signed OGD114, two signatures, and a video of me telling Fred and Freddie “this is the best product you have in the shop, should have left OGD at barrel proof or 114.”

Larceny BP C924 was a big let down to me this year.

OGD 16 gets so much better as it opens up. I actually didn’t really like it on fresh crack but now love it! Looking for a back up

I drink less expensive whiskies but Still Austin and Makers 46 were my most disappointing purchases in 2024.

Love that the 8 year 70th anniversary Wild Turkey was in your top 10. It was the best value of the year (green river full proof 1b for me as well). My bourbon group picked up 4 of the wild turkey to make sure we had some for 2025. Cheers and great review.

Larrikin was on of my favorite stops on my Kentucky vacation. The Bottled in Bond has become one of my faves in 2024. Even though it is Barton juice there are notes in it that remind me of Turkey. The 8 years of aging have given it a depth while keeping that cherry note. If the price came down a little I would easily recommend Larrikin as a daily sipper.

Nice list! Surprised nothing from Sagamore Spirits made your list. If you haven't tried them before, I suggest their 9 Year Rye ---- its EXCELLENT! I was lucky to get a bottle of the Penelope and while I wouldn't put it 3rd on my list, I do agree that its the best bottle they have ever released! I just subscribed, so I'm looking forward to your 2025 content. Cheers!

EH Taylor Barrel Proof rye was horrifyingly bad. Worst thing I have ever tasted

The problem here is with the number 1 pick is not the price point (thats the second problem) the first is that people who had the 18 have had the 17 and are comparing the two.

Willett 8 year wheated bourbon was my most disappointing. Practically the same thing as the new Bardstown wheated 106 proof for 5 times the price

I personally love ODG 16, I also don’t mind the proof. However, I still think 200 tag is rough and wouldn’t rebuy. Understandable list.

Green River Full proof… I’ll be hated for this but it wasn’t anything special if were being honest

1792 full proof store pick. Unbalanced with really harsh ethanol. Turned me off the whole brand that they would release something like this.

My most disappointing bottle of 2024 was a Hirsch high rye private selection pick. I expected more from something rumored to be Willett juice.

I like how the thumbnail says “avoid”. My guy….. these bottles already came and went. Especially out the back door of liquor stores or in the distributors hands
