Not sure what you mean by pesky so, if you want to catch them, free lining crabs and mullet seemed to be working. If you don’t wanna catch them, just use a decent amount of weight and fish bottom. That’s what we did and we only got picked up by a tarpon once. Hope that helps 🤙🏼

The were pesky because they wouldn't eat anything I threw at them, but I don't fish live bait, just flies and the occasional soft plastic.@@RukusFishing

Oh I gotcha, well fly fishing is way outside my realm, but as far as soft plastics go, I would just throw 5”+ hogeys or the NLBNs I know those work real well.

Thank you, I really appreciate it! Yea I haven’t fished there much this summer cuz it’s typically too hot but this fall I’ll probably hit it quite a bit, it’s so much fun in that area.

New heading: How many fish can he drop on one trip 😂. The fish that made it back down through the dolphin had to have therapy for years to come. I was just picking on my son for this after dropping a single bass like 5 times. 😂🤦🏻‍♂️

just for your safety I would always use pliers to get hooks out, talking from experience learned the hard way

Would you be willing to share how far out and/or how deep? I'm coming down in a month and want to try for some but have a 16 ft boat so it will be very dependent on conditions. Might have to stick to the bay if it's too choppy and would stay within 3-5 miles either way

Nice, East Bay is the best fishery of the 4 bays. That last half was Plantation flats wasn't it? Know you're not much of a live bait user, but the next time you see the red barrel stop by for some on the house, may change your mind after some bigger reds and trout.
