I have a Pit Barrel PBX that just came in. Are you still using lump charcoal with the PB as in your older videos? I think the flavor is better with lump than with briquettes. The heat is not as uniform though. I also have an 8 year old Grilla Grills Silverback as well. It's great to see someone smoking with the Grilla. Nice looking bird. I'm a new sub. Just stumbled upon an older video. Cheers.
@GrillMarkCoАй бұрын
Thanks man! Welcome! Lump burns hotter so will make it go hotter. Briquettes work just fine as long as they aren’t lighter fluid based you will be fine. I prefer briquettes in the pit barrel to be honest.

Is it necessary to brine and inject? Will I still get a great turkey if I just inject
@GrillMarkCo2 ай бұрын
@@Big_Guy89 absolutely! Injecting works just as good. The brine helps lock that moisture in for all around flavor but you don’t have to do both.

See what happened is that you used all that seasoning which didn’t allow for the smoke. Plus you’re right you used a pellet smoker. If you use the pellet smoker use less rub. If you’re using lump coal then use all the seasoning you want padawan you are😂
