One thing I wanna say about bedding is check the laws in your area for example here in Sweden, keeping guinea pigs on fleece is a crime and you can be charged with animal abuse and in that case you will not be allowed to keep animals ever again and also you’ll be fined.

So you didn't mention drying the fleece after washing it to prepare it. If you pour water on to wet fleece it's not going to absorb anything. Could you please fill in the blank?

Mine eats it from a bowl or a spoon . How much is enough? How many times a day?? Mine is 5 and a half years old. Only wants to eat vegetables. Needs to gain weight but won't eat his hay. How do I encourage him to eat his hay ?? Has mushy poo. Won't drink his water . Only getting water from the water I put on the vegetables.

Hi, thank you for this. I came across your channel by accident but will now follow. My Betty was quietly having ovarian cysts while I was having Ellie checked for two summers because she was aggressive and seemed to be launching endless leadership challenges. Also, there were signs of calcium deposits in the urine but I couldn't figure out which sow. Long story short, Betty was definitely showing signs - withdrawing, sleeping a lot and choosing to cuddle by lying up my chest instead of her usual position along my arm. She also had a spare tyre. Exam and immediate x-ray revealed not a tumor but massive cysts on both ovaries, one of which was leaking and therefore the spare tyre which was the fluid. She had the fluid drained and ovaries removed and was making good progress but began seizing on the second evening. There was no out of hours vet coverage that night so she didn't die as kindly as I would have liked. This was last week so probably two much information. Sorry. But I fully agree with the advice to check everything out as soon as possible. Given the information from you, I am now watching Ellie carefully. If I can figure out how to subscribe, I will. I like the way you presented the facts, options and just generally how you have communicated. Thank you.

A few months ago I started my own animal sanctuary for misplaced exotic animals I plan on posting videos on it soon but I just took into chinchillas who were in a very bad home the guy didn't care for them at all and they didn't have access to a dust bath so their fur was very dirty and the poor babies they were just so sad but now they're living their best lives in a huge enclosure with the best diet and a free access to the dust bath lots of human attention and I might be taking in another ball python soon😊 wish me luck.

To rescue strayanimals and give them the best life that they deserve is the dream of every animal lover😢❤. Since I adopted a guinea pig, so far, we have not yet had too much trouble. I keep mine in the og bag. Now, I did have a friend who gifted me the rest of their hay, which was a large bag, so I switched the small bag into that one. I store the materials in a large diaper box under the table and clean up any spilled hay immediately, which tends to only be a little. Not to say we won't have trouble, but I am trying to keep things clean bc of my toddler putting things in his mouth.😅

I have Guinea pigs & they are all short haired. I do have some boars, but as seen in video you mentioned there are 2 that boars like, I have checked their website and confirmed they are for boars. What would you recommend for Sows that aren’t pregnant & those who are?

I work at a rural king and we carry rabbits. Im 99% our rabbits had it. We had a batch come in and management didn't quarantine them from the others. Suddenly a few days later I see one dead. Take it out. Had no idea what happened. I don't even work in that department. Well next day comes. I go by rabbits and I see her breathing weird. Head up. I watch it for 5 minutes. Looked like it was sneezing a few times. Then after like 30 seconds after the first sneeze, I see his ears fall, his breathing stop, and he went limp. That's when I started looking it up. First I saw this like fly disease that could've been the case. The next day I took out 2 dead rabbits that were isolated. Looked at the bodies and don't see any maggots. Looked at more things and found RHDV. Matched it exactly. We lost at least 80% of the rabbits. And now it's happening again. Had 1 dead yesterday. 1 today. 1 or2 I believe will either pass today or tomorrow. While they did sterilize the hutches, I believe they made one mistake. The cage we had for the quarantined rabbits. They never cleaned it thoroughly. And one of the survivors was put back in with the rabbits.
