I have never tried the appetite restorer, I will order that 👍. The vets in the UK charge for the syringes, so I buy them from amazon.

On the topic of bloat, cilantro/coriander and Fennel are piggie safe herbs that can help prevent gas from forming. My piggie loves them both so I alternate and give a little of each with her veggibles. Just for a little piece of mind.

@@TheTinyHerd the first thing I did when I rehomed my girl was FREAK OUT about bloat. So I did some research for natural ways to prevent gas. Then I cross referance with piggie safe veggies and voiala... pretty sure I spelled that wrong but you get the idea. I will however get some of those simethicone drops as back up. Thanks for sharing your emergancy kit.

In regards to syringes for recovery food, depending on how much you have to feed, I highly recommend using larger 10 ml syringes. After having tried smaller 1 and 3 ml ones when I needed to administer 30 ml of critical care, they saved me so much time and hassle. Not sure if my vet has that size but the Walgreens pharmacy near me just gives them away for free if you ask.

I've tried many sizes over the years and these have always been easier for me. I've never had a pig be able to eat more than a couple syringes at a time.

Does the critical care have an expiration date? Wondering if I would have to keep repurchasing them if they do expire!

It does, but it lasts pretty long and it's mainly the vitamin c that expires so you could supplement. Some people keep it in the freezer to help it last longer.
