important datacenters need redundant cooling systems

The problem is there is lots of vibration on cooling towers and lots of the old liquidtite flex has wound metal enter core or metal flex conduit with plastic outer coat or cover. The electrical wire conductors lie inside on the metal flex and the vibration will cause the wire insulation to abrade on the metal and there is where you begin to get leakage to ground and later a ground fault.

Hey mate, Disassembling and removing this model. Do you have an estimated weight for the 2 cylinders at the base of the structure? Great videos

Funny enough....bearing manufacturers will tell you....its better to under grease than over grease bearings. There is a information available on how much to use based on how many hours the motor has been in operation. I like to look at the run hours on the VFD. You can reset it after each PM you grease the motor. If your grease is turning a blackish color....that could be a sign of shaft voltage from the VFD.

I went to a B&G class in 2016 where they stated 2014 and up the EM grease(exclusively) or Lithium Complex is the only 2 types of grease they wanted us to use I have maintained that since with no issue

I’m retired now and find it amazing how many things on this machine are taken directly from Westinghouse Chillers from many moons ago.

So if that make up isn’t working, will that water level be the same as the other cooling towers since it’s on a equalisation line?
@HVACTIME6 күн бұрын
If the equalizer is open yes, it will at least try

Great information. I like the deeper discussions regarding physics or deeper electrical talk. The way you describe things you would probably be really informative regarding some electrical information in general or in reference to Chillers.

Ive seen Alot of different machines here in Phoenix with low TD from scale. Water treatment logs and testing and cooling tower appearance can also help paint a picture. Usually a half day of circulating acid across the condenser tubes ( don’t put that stuff in the tower! Doesn’t like it)

First, love your content! The chilled water network design has a lot to do with evaporator load parameters. Do you have 2-way or 3-way valves at the coils with just a primary pump? Do you have a variable speed secondary loop tied with constant speed primary pumps? Do you have the latest and greatest variable primary or variable primary / variable secondary loops? With more chilled water networks going the variable flow route, we can't just be looking at TD for a proper load estimation. And then, of course, we have these octopus like chilled water networks with a branch here on constant speed pumps and a branch there with variable speed ones.

Sir, Yk centrifugal chiller style H facing problem condenser liquid level refrigerant fluctuate 1.9 % to 90 %, already replaced new refrigerant actuator positioner valve. Can you explain what is the issue. And how to troubleshooting it. The warring is liquid refrigerant level stability.
