I love the Reclaimer. I use it as a home almost each patch - I even named it "Home". One of the coolest things I witness when I started this game was watching this monster land at an outpost I was at on Daymar and covering the entire outpost. I thought It was going to crush everything! I pack bikes, a Nursa, and snubs in it to cover all the bases, then head out into the black until the next patch. That being said, it is in desperate need of a rework. Missing features, outdated metrics, glitchy everything. It is a big ship that spoils solo play at this time, but when it gets resource management and fire, It will almost impossible to solo. I would recommend people who want to solo get a vulture and don't be lured by the "Earn 20 Million an Hour" videos one sees, that is a right now, and I believe most people will end up melting their reclaimers when they realize that it is just too big and too buggy. I can't wait to see my cargo holds on fire...

Not sure what you mean by 180 on salvage and cargo 120. But Cargo SCU is 420 on the the Reclaimer so you've missed 120 SCU of holding space. Not to mention you dont even need to use the cargo grid and can fit closer to 800 SCU on the ship in the salvage/cargo alone (excluding the restof the ship you can prolly fit a ton of small boxes in like the biggest space pinata ever.

Have to agree, I love this ship. But only as an in-game ship and for what I know it'll become some day, but it's desperately needs a rework, added drones, just fill out the rest of the ship. Otherwise it's badass and I love the enormity of the ship.

There are better freighters, I don't know why anyone would take a Retaliator without the torps. And the Eclipse is better at torps. If it's not going down with 3 size IX torps, I'm not sure 6 will cut it either. And the Eclipse can fire and be gone before anyone can react.

Lol i own both. The Vulture is easier solo but the Reclaimer just shits buckets of credits with no limit.

You broke my heart with this one. I use it after 3.23 hit and he lost the big money Hammerhead missions, as a one, two punch. I take my SRV and get a box mission, take the box and go to Rappel or Pickers. Find ships, usually Crusader 2 series, and tow them somewhere. Leave the box. Go back n forth till I have a nice collection. Then I go get the Reclaimer, and scrape all the ships, and then disintegrate. After that, I usually have 4-7mil with just 2-3 hours work. No risk, really. If I die in the SRV, I can keep on working along. I can even stop and go do other stuff and come back to my money making. Some people use it to scrape their own ships and make upwards of 12 mil in a sitting.

Dude, I switched to a Claimer a few months ago and couldnt be more happy. You're a crazy man. I went from 1 mil, to 5 in like 5 sessions and I only play for a couple hours at a time.

I would have liked you to a full review of all features before you advised people to avoid the ship.

The best was to salvage is to group up with people doing ERT after the killed everything you come in a clean up

The Reclaimer was one of my first ships, and my friends and I love it and have had a lot of adventures in it. This is an example of a ship you shouldn't get (pledge or otherwise) unless you understand what you're getting yourself into. Well, that's the case with every ship I suppose, but ships like this more than most. It absolutely should not be your own ship; that'd be insane. This is the ship you get if you have a friend group that wants to do a big sessions of a ton of salvaging and get rich together, or if you want something to RP in, or use as a floating hub or base of operations for pirating or other illegal work. In these roles it is a fantastic ship, and unfair to say anything else. In many cases I'd still recommend spreading out in vultures but the vulture is also a fantastic ship, and some people want to work together in one big ship. Star Citizen isn't about min-maxing every little thing, it's about immersion and taking things slow. And doing industrial work on a massive, rusty, awesome looking ship like the Reclaimer can't be beat when it comes to such immersion. Getting drunk with the boys in discord while going on big reclaimer expeditions is a unique gaming experience. Many ships in Star Citizen are like this: just because they're terrible at some things doesn't mean they're not amazing at others. I could also talk your ear off on how it can be used as a pirate's base of operations. It holds a lot of cargo and has insane hull HP, both of which can come in handy when grubbing. Not to mention, again, it can salvage, so defeated ships can also be eaten after you've stolen all their cargo. Alone it's a terrible pirate ship, but as the back bone of a clan of pirates it's ideal.

you make a review of a ship without trying out its main purpose? salvaging? you didnt use a vulture and you probably dont know that in a vulture you do 500k in an hour and with a reclaimer you do millions in an hour. so its a big upgrade. you do compare the reclaimer with a connie in the comments because... you can do ERTs with a connie and not with a reclaimer???????? its like me saying "yooo, i hate cars because i can fly way better with a plane. my review is now, that cars are not worth it and better buy a plane" like srsly wtf? dont you see that you just dont know what you are talking about right now?

It will be rough considering it was just hard nerfed. It was the best ship in the game last patch, I also want to state that always use VTOL to get out of atmo. The Reclaimer is amazing but it had to get nerfed when people were making 6+ mil in under a hour :x

to be fair, the Atmo experience is supposed to kinda suck lol..., and there is no other salvage ship to swap for loaner. would probably get a Starfarer if anything anyways... regardless of that, the ship needs a rework after salvage changes, as grinder room is a placeholder for original structural salvage that was changed. tbh, i'm not really satisfied with current structural salvage as there is no gameplay to it besides click and wait, but that's something else. the grinder room is just wasted space at this point, and it's not a small room. a lot of interior stuff is legacy and needs going over on top of things like the drones that haven't really been touched in general.

Judge the ships as they are, and you will find little value. Judge them as they will be, and your mind will be blown from the value in each and every one of them

Pretty sure he is trolling for exposure or he is just really that dense, seems to be working to a degree. What idiot would look at the Reclaimer purchase and think "value buy". It's a profession specific ship and the best at it. Cries it's too big yet they give the size of the ship on the ship page so if you don't like big ships and are too lazy to climb a ladder, which I'm not sure what that's about as the ship has elevators, you complain about no loaner? Loaners are for ships not currently in game. Then to top it off you call it a waste of money. Based on what economic rule? You can make millions per hour without even trying in this ship. Without ever scraping a single hull, just munch and run. It's nice to see all these new faces to the Alpha but sadly it seems like people do not understand what an Alpha is as they complain about features and bugs. As someone who owns quite a few ships with the Reclaimer being my second the ship, it works fine for its intended purpose but is in dire need of an overhaul. Having said that, this is one of the earlier large ships to flyable that came out without a game loop in place and iterations on it have been slow. With the resource network coming online and the changes to hull munching there still remains a lot of space on board that is underutilized or that should IMO be repurposed. Personally, I feel the the Constriction Materials should be broken down and refined aboard into commodities otherwise the grinder section needs to go away and be turned into a med bay of sorts. --- all Heavy industrial ships should have on board medical from a logical standpoint. The lower salvage deck needs to have a cargo grid implemented for storage and the back hatch needs to remove the small elevator that serves as a blocker to quickly dropping goods out from processing deck for external storage or disposal. Like all large ships only having elevators for access between decks and exterior is poor design without forethought. Additionally, having manned turrets really makes no sense as you would want your crew to be working stations for the job and have the ability to quickly remote in to any of the turrets to support defensive ops. Having the pilot only maneuver the ship and not the claw was due to people complaining about the profitability of the ship and since the claw is literally point and click at this point instead of grab, cut, and grind it doesn't realistically make sense. Love the ships look and feel but needs work.

When im solo, the vulture tends to be my go to. I can do a little run and make 120-200k. when i have one more person we can make millions. This was one of my first purchases with real money. Im also a big aliens fan, so this ship hits that franchise hard

Yeah that's a size 5 turret bud, you can pretty much stave off 2 ships by yourself lol you can also do 30 minute solo runs that can yield 300-500k. That includes salvage Time and travel if you stay around Grim hex. This is basically one of the most bad ass ships and your picking it apart lol feel like your kinda new to SC. But hey everyone is entitled to their own thoughts and opinions.

First thing you should know is that this is outdated there is so much more added some time back that is not in this video . Like you can make 16 scu box,s speeds up emptying the 240scu hopper this alone put this ship hands down the best of the 2 salvage ships, Time is not only money but could be the factor that puts you standing at the TDD jumping up and down for joy over your bank account or another frozen peace of space debris. Trust me you dont want nothing but two bull dogs and drakes quality build to be all you got when you meet your roommates over at Grim hex. Now as for the free light fighter i would opp to buy it from new deal with your first 30 min outing over your meted as it opens up to other possibility for more educated players to chose from. I will give you that if you dont know what your doing and think its just like all other ships like a car is just like a bus flying it can be tricky but if you know what your doing it flys very nice just slow very stable and the only thing to worry about is if its too windy but again just get your skills up. Feel free to try and change my mind but the only reason i can think of that one would not want this ship is if they dont want every ship in the game and the fun game play that comes with it or if you cant stand players thanking you for helping them make the money to get the things they dream of in game.
