Pretty poignant that his companion druids mentioned both died in quick succession. The druid order as explained a very select and finite group and essentially with the loss of his fellow druids the fullness of the inherited wisdom/knowledge was all but lost. Which points to the fact that the best way to preserve useful knowledge is not to limit it to a few but share it with many - there in lies the paradox, that it is better that knowledge be written down than rely on what this old druid perports that we rely on telepathy!
