Oh I love seeing these auld ones. They were the best kind of people and are sorely missed. We were blessed to know any old dears like these. My Irish great great grandmother was known to be a healer on many but we only know a tiny bit of what she knew. Thank you for posting this.

What a tremendous piece of footage from yester-year. I found it quite charming. Sadly, there's so few folks offering 'cures' these days. I recall that we had old ladies in our village who had those tricks up their sleeves and they were always held in high regard. Sadly we now live in a fractured society. I weep for Ireland and here in Scotland, we fare not much better.

I'm 56, and as a child I remember my Ma telling me to run to such an aunt or such an aunts house because she needed a cure for one of us children. Sadly, them cures were never passed down because my aunts had no children themselves. This generation & the next have no hope. 😔😔

We should be really treasuring and preserving these articles from the past because we're unlikely to see people like these or hear their wisdom in this life again in the future. And that's a scary thought.

Perfectly said! Such horribly hard experiences all our ancestors went through. And yet in that darkness they still shined the light. The inner strength they had is so admirable. I try to be even somewhat like my grandparents and great grandparents. Ireland has always had something rear its ugly head to try to crush it. Evil hates good. But it did not win then and it will not win now if we keep the old ways alive in us and our families. 💕☘️💕. I adore this channel for that and many reasons. Showing us, not lecturing us.

I care. I’m one of the unvaccinated 10% along with MANY older people in Limerick and Dublin I know well . I have been very surprised at the level of awareness from extremely old people at the corruption in the government at the moment and at the lunacy that was created out of the common flu there a couple of years ago ..as for the young ..I don’t know about them..I blame rich 40-year-olds and older in cozy government jobs.. they’re corrupted by money and affluence and laziness and they think they’re being PC when they’re just being fools and they’re selling away their whole culture
