Also if you're in a Dusty environment it could get full of dust and you have to do some compressed air to get that dust out on a mulcher head that I would just prefer to leave the front locks on the head unlocked because they get filled full of dirt and then you can't unlock it

The lock on the window, is to hold the window open at the point you open it.. My 330G John Deere has the same two way windows, and the window lock.. I too can hook up hydraulic lines with the machine running.. The 330G has lots of options like high flow or standard flow, auto bucket leveling, the option of changing the controls from ISO or H pattern auto reversing engine fan, the option to slow down the travel to snail movement if you are doing something touchy.. There are so many more heat/AC vents on the 330G or the 332G, which is a track machine.. The Deere machines are so much easier to service than the Cat.. Changing the oil and fuel filters on the Cat is fairly tight being back in that hole.. The Deere has automatic idle if you stop for like five seconds, then when you touch the control again it comes back up to where the throttle is set on the control.. The 330G and the 332G have ride control that lets the loader arms float a little when going over rough ground.. The Deere machines are equipped with a back up camera and a blue tooth radio.. (not all are so equipped) The Deere machines are also rated to pick up more than the Cat.. Thank you for the great review of your Cat machine.. I hope it gives you many hours of service..

I charge $150 to clean every time a customer brings me a dirty SXS, it takes a long time to really clean SXSs, especially a Can-Am. To do good quality work the machine needs to be very clean. I’m sure no customer would appreciate dirt getting into the front differential when the axle is removed for replacement. Also, a deep clean regularly is a part of any good maintenance plan.

Change all to Amsoil...Thank me later. Defenders are very short lived here in New Zealand. We claim around 67% of all world warrantys but sell less than 1% of B.R.P's world production. Gearboxes self destruct, gear shift cable breaks, gear shift lever gating weld failure (just weld or replace), Engine very prone to dusting, steering racks failure, front diffs blowing, Timing chain tensioner failure leading to oil leak (around 300 hrs) All this and more within 2 years. Beyond that chassis crack, Engine dusting. The speedo cluster dies after hrs exceeded. Get rid of that filter and plumb in a Racor Snapp water trap sediment filter... thank me later.

It's a rubber compounding issue at the Camso factory, I'm sure of it. Every single Camso track I've had, has split on the *inside* of the track right around 500hrs. That's across 4 different machines of different brands. I replace them with Bridgestone tracks, and never have a problem again.

What size deere did you have? I currently am looking at a new ctl, i have case 340b right now, but have purchased a cat d3 dozer and 420xe backhoe for alot of the same reasons you have mentioned. John Deere 331 looks impressive but i have not tested either one yet
@theMTNman5 ай бұрын
I owned a 322 but operated a 332 as well. I'm not sure which size cat you are looking at but the new models have a number of nice upgrades compared to mine. You should definitely get what makes you happy and from a dealership that is going to support you. I truly think that is one of the most important aspects. They all get the job done (if sized properly), just in different ways. Some are more comfortable and some are more utilitarian. After almost 800 hours I'm still very satisfied with mine; however, I will be looking at the next gen replacement for the 299. I told my rep after I bought it that I wished they offered something between a 299 and a 953. A 953 is too heavy to move around for most people, but a 16-19k pound CTL with about 140hp would be nice for the things I do. I'm hoping they develop a machine with similar specs in the future.

Hello. I just retired from heavy equipment where we had a fleet of Cat products. They had endless issues with the DEF systems. Have you had any issues like this? I want to buy a small handy machine but I cannot afford the repairs with faulty DEF. Thankyou in advance.
@theMTNman5 ай бұрын
I have 733 hours on the machine and it will go weeks without being ran and I haven't had any DEF issues (I've been told letting them sit can increase chances of DEF problems). I run BlueDEF or BlueDEF platinum exclusively and I keep it full. It sips DEF compared to the Volvo truck. After almost 2 years of ownership, I still wouldn't choose a different brand. No real problems other than the fuel gauge occasionally reads incorrectly and I have a short in the headlight switch. Thanks for watching and good luck finding the right machine.

It's a lot easier to break the Polaris too. All kidding aside, Polaris might have improved their quality in the last few years. It is a process to change the oil in this thing but I wouldn't let that make my decision. It is a great machine for the farm, mild trails, and back roads.

HOW? I run the solid tired version of the 262D(3) on concrete all day in tight spaces, and although I wear out a set of tires every 6-9 months(750-1150hrs), at ~$4k(or more) per set, I can't imagine any situation, other than doing donuts for 400hrs that could wear them out that fast.
@theMTNman5 ай бұрын
No donuts, make multipoint turns, or wide sweeps if at all possible. Our property has a lot of red shale which is a hard version of shale and it can be very sharp. Once it slices the track it's only a matter of time that piece gets ripped off and you are missing a chunk of track. Thanks for watching.

I'm looking at my options. I didn't realize these were their most cheaply made track. It's my understanding they have premium versions that are supposed to wear better. Sounds like you might have a premium set. I'm concerned the ground on our property is going to ruin anything. We have a lot of sharp rocks and once the track gets cut, it doesn't take long to rip a chunk out.

I'm not trying to be rude, so please don't be offended, but it would be helpful if you watched and LISTENED to the entire series I posted on LizardSkin prior to commenting. I collaborated with the manufacturer on this series and application. In short, we used LizardSkin because we wanted to black the truck out and we knew black attracts heat. We were committed to black tanks and wanted a layer of insulation to reduce the heat transfer to the fuel. This product is used on fuel storage tanks in the desert to prevent heat transfer. Thanks for watching and please consider subscribing.

How many hours are on those tracks. Plus those tracks are designed for loose soil and snow.
@theMTNman5 ай бұрын
You are correct on their design properties. Unfortunately our property has a lot of red shale along with some very loamy soft soil too. The red shale cuts the tracks really easily. When I first got the replacement set I monitored the wear and my operating habits closely, no spinning, no tight turns, and absolutely no stationary turns. On the first set I would spin them occasionally but and make some tight turns but never donuts. Even while avoiding all these scenarios at the end of the day I would find large cuts in the tracks when operating it on red shale. The tracks in the video had about 400hrs on them and the new set has about 400 now. They are wearing better because I'm not working in the shale as frequently. Thanks for watching and please consider subscribing.

Nice video... Machines over 75hp sets it into a different class and far as engine emissions... The cat 313gc also has about the same size engine. The regular 313 has a 90 hp motor..Then you get into the def and all that emissions crap.

Nice video,,very informative. Unfortunately with all mini excavator.. ( Strange how a 22 thousand pound machine is still called a mini excavator..) But all of the hydraulic flow goes towards your tracks. As soon as you start moving all other functions slow down. As far as I know only the cat 309 won't do it as much. Because it has a second hydraulic pump just for the attachment. Like a mulcher or something like that. My mini does the same thing..
