Just enjoyed both players, each guitar has it's own voice. The Gibson suites the music better IMO. I'm sure Just tweaking the tone a bit with the Tele would work just fine.

Henriksen is a superior jazz amp. A few months ago, I got one while searching for an amp comparable to a Polytone. This one proved to be better. Even so, I am selling it because I'm giving up gigging and no longer need the loudness or ease of transport.

2 great players and 2 outstanding guitars, or the other way round! For me, only one of them could be considered a jazz instrument.

Very nice sounding Guitar. I have got Peerless Jazz City. I like the guitars made in south Corea. I also like th D'Angelico EXL-1. Looks like Gibson Johnny Smith. But at a high price. But Gibson is the classic.

Mambo had the quietest electronics, you really notice it when you muted the band. Do we need an amp at all? John McLaughlin hasn't used one for 25 years, he sounds pretty good? I am saving for a Mambo 8 wedge - just for those occasions when all you have is your back line - well that is how I am justifying it to myself at least. Thanks for taking tbe time to make this video - it has confirmed my preference for the Mambo although it is a close call. Ta

Fantastic guitar playing. I really could not tell any difference between any of the amps. I hate to say the champs sounded as good as the princeton.

a cedar/rosewood guitar, instead of this spruce/maple would be more suitable with the mellower and richer jazz sound

Es 175 especially with flatwounds always sounds muddy when chords are played, and as you can hear here is also irritatingly immature when it comes to treble notes. A grosly overrated guitar, as is most Gibson jazz boxes- imho :))))

Very nice demo. I like the Princeton with the C10R the best, followed VERY closely by the Jazzamp. The P10R model sounds too dark. I'm in the process of selling my Champ clone (with a 12" ceramic speaker) to possibly buy a Princeton Reverb RI. I also have a Henrksen Bud that has pretty much taken all my time away from the Champ since I got it. I really like the Henriksen, though it can sound a little sterile in some situations. It sounds AMAZING for jazz (I play variously configured solid-body teles), but not the best for other genres. I can twiddle knobs and get a possibly country sound out of it, but it's not the greatest. I still like tubes for twang I guess. I also really like amp tremolo and reverb. The Bud's onboard reverb is not great...very digital and not in a good way. My Strymon Flint's reverb sounds much better for that kind of thing. I do wish Henriksen would offer a Bud with tremolo instead. I think it's a much more useful effect for jazz. Very subtle settings can simulate reverb without getting washy and deeper settings can sound beautiful on ballads. Anyway, looking hard at the Princeton Reverb. Jim Campilongo makes them work for everything that I want to do.

The comparison really is invalid. It is veristality vs specialization. The Archtop is a very expensive "one-trick-pony" although the one trick is beautiful - especially on slow jazz ballads where the rich harmonics and acoustic "woodyness" really shine. You can play any style on a Tele. I have owned 5 archtops in my life - now I own one tele. (thanks Mike Stern and Tim Lerch ) It does everything - with a P-90 in the neck position the jazz tone is awesome. Sco is playing his more and more these days. Must be a reason for that. I think one of the reasons is playability. I like the longer scale and less tension of the strings for instance. I had a Heritage Sweet 16 that was a beautiful guitar but the neck angle and string tension made it hard to play for me. Had to sell it at a big loss. Very painful!

I just bought the Aria Pro Ce 180 in excellent condition for $850 from a Vegas Pawn Shop through Reverb. I have 30 guiars, 5 Martins (high end) 3 Taylors acoustic etc.. but the Aria is by far the easiest to play and I can't put it down. I am 73 and know a jewell when I see it. I was ready to drop $7,000 of the ES 175..so glad I didn't..the Aria is 47 years old and looks as good as my PRS Hollow Body.. perfect finish still

The telecaster has more of an even balanced sound/tone. More definition and sustain in the lower register. Just different tonalities of two excellent guitars. They both compliment one another. Great presentation. 🎧

Beautiful tune and great playing technique! To my ears, the Princeton produced nice clear bell tones. The 57 Champ was more forward, clear but complex. The clone was also nice sounding. Utlimately, the tone produced by your ingers was consistent among all three amps. Well done! Thank you for sharing this.

I liked the Mambo best, it had the best balance. The Princeton had a little treble spike I didn't like. The Henriksen was close to the Mambo.
