I don't see how anyone needs to point out things. I am a fat person and I know it. You don't need to tell me that and you don't need to tell me to lose weight. Of course I want to lose weight and I want to be healthy. I also want to meet Avi Kaplan but is that going to happen any sooner? I don't think so. It might not happen in my lifetime. Of course I want to do my best to try but do I have any guarantee I would die tomorrow? No I don't. Same for this situation. So instead of focusing on pointing out these things, focus on more positive things. My aunt-in-law, God rest her soul, was the healthiest person I know. I even remember her making homemade healthy ice-cream. She used to exercise, be active in village events, she was intelligent and lived a very fulfilling life. But her destiny had to be to get breast cancer and pass away at the young age of 55 years. I am not saying you should eat junk food all the time but if for some people losing weight is not an option for them, whatever the reason, then stop trying to highlight that. There is nothing more beautiful and amazing than Nicola loving herself and her body. You go girl 💪🏻

I think it is really unclassy the way the journalists want to talk about it. I mean imagine if an actor was asked about taking on a role as an ugly character because they themselves were unattractive. It would be deemed exceedingly rude and I think this focus is likewise insensitive. However, it is brought up because her having extra fat on her body or being a soft/plump body type is a factor which is considered in general to make a person less attractive than being a more lean version of themselves. That is to say it's not that curviness and voluptuousness isn't attractive but when the amount of fat goes over a threshold into quite overweight or obese it then takes away from a person's beauty because it's not in balance. This is an unspoken thing about Penelope - that she is considered less attractive and not competitive in the match-making scene because of her size (and also I guess the family's reputation). I do really like how she handled this question and I am also sick of the fixation on this aspect of her character and with her taking on the character. How brave to dare portray yourself as an attractive curvy person!! So my take-away is people might think these things but to fixate on them shows no class and ignores the beauty and talent of the actor.

Sorry, but Nicola is hardly an amazing actress! Come on now ... yeah she is ok but amazing? About her size ... these type of fantasy stories such as Bridgerton beauty is a strong part of tge enjoyment! She hardly has beautiful breast. She had a year to downsize and looks like she only lost 15 lbs. Casting director flopped with her ... placing her with Colin ... he's beautiful. This woman's head is big and round ( l'm real fat myself) ... she belonged in the kitchen to play the cook not a lover. I couldn't stop laughing when she is on top of Colin in what looked like a 5x bathrobe pumping. No one bought that and they know it! The problem too is this actress was parading around the screen like she is/was fine, nope. Not pretty, cute sorry. I felt so sorry for Luke Newton he got screwed and he's beautiful. She is not a great actress. You know who's good her 2 sisters, and the tall blonde is excellent ... but she at times over acts. Now Oprah is selling these gel drops that help you lose weight ... she really needs to try some. A yr and she's big and "fat". Truly a disappointment... and her height she looks like a midget because of her weight. Reminds me of the dat girl in tge candy factory movie that wanted candy he gave her some and she turned blue think about it. Now l understand why they had to shut it down and try to fix it. I stop watching after season 5 so please correct me if new information has been learned in the seasons since. This is what I don’t get when William was like 12 he already learned that Jamie was his real father when his dad got sick and Claire had to treat him and exposed her jealously for his friendship with Jamie. so I don’t see the point of this storyline other than to make drama. You are telling me that a 12 year old can piece together Jamie is his real father and then forget in the next 10 years learning that?

I think that denying that she's a plus size is actually kinda problematic. Like, I don't know if literally, in each country, the size she wears is classified as plus size. That's irrelevant. The point is her shape is what visually is usually referenced to as a plus size, specially considering the ocidental stars universe. And denying that, in my view, is reinforcing that there's a problem with being a plus size! It's ok to be a plus size! What matters is if a person is healthy and happy. And each shape and each person has their beauty, and it's awesome that a person with a body type like hers, a type that is still so rare among main characters in big shows, is killing it in that role. Her body stand out in the crowd of thin actors, and that's why it is being so commented. Unfortunately, by some, in a bad way. But, by many, in celebration! Maybe someday we will be much more advanced on diversity and over talking about people's bodies, especially women's. But, for now, recognizing her shape as valid and shedding light on how rare it is that bodies like these are represented is good and necessary.

This Episode 7 was exceptional in every way - truly an award-worthy show. The writing, directing and acting was the best. Michelle Morgan deserves an award, and the scene in which she told Tim about the call was so touching. I am really happy to see Amy and Nathan together. Again, exceptional writing and casting.

Nicola is sparklingly beautiful inside and out. She so talented and intelligent in many ways, which makes her captivating. She truly made Penelope stand out. I feel that if her character were paired with a man whose personality does not stand out, like Colin, and who is less facially appealing despite being fit, she wouldn't be criticized. In the film industry, we often lack diversity in leading romantic stories. People who live their lives through the TV screen are, so to speak, groomed to be delusional. We need more and more diversity on the screen that reflects real life, not the sick perfection that is unreal.

She seems very sweet and I'm glad she's strong enough and has support to stand up under the nasty comments and negativity. If you look at her Skims ad, she's very beautiful as a full-figured woman! Don't get it twisted there's nothing sloppy about her and she takes very good care of herself!

Anyone who doesn't know what it feels like to be harshly judged by others, no matter how graceful, lovely in character and simply being a good human being you are, should be so lucky, and it is not the norm. Society at large seems to lean toward hateful and misguided comments. They just cannot help themselves. For those who do not know, however, let me be the first to say the following: I have lived life as both a model for Hanes and other campaigns to carrying extra weight. I learned that even when you are what many people think is the "perfect size" and attractive, you are just as likely to be cheated on in a relationship, to feeling insecurities and longing for a connection beyond purely physical attributes. It sounds cliche to say so, but it's a different beast altogether to experience it. It's very sobering. You then realize that developing your kindness of spirit, your passion(s), and developing into a well-rounded, loving individual is 100% the ONLY thing that will give you direction and understanding when someone truly loves and appreciates you. Looks alone will never get you very far, and everyone, no matter their vocation or station in life, will feel heartbreak due to verbal insults, other types of bullying, or poor care by others. I find Nicola to be breathtaking. Her laugh is everything, so contagious! So should anyone think that what they have and what they look like is going to shield them throughout life from hurtful situations, that is not how it will play out. The fact that someone thinks that having a different body type is worse than being ugly to the very core and with a hateful countenance, is asinine, and they've never been so wrong. The last laugh is always had by those who KNOW that beauty is, indeed, only skin deep. Thank you for making this particular content. It gives one some hope that people, in general, can learn to be better and to apologize to those they've hurt by their cruel remarks and an unbridled mouth.

Penelope has been striving to be recognized, and found that through Lady Whistledown, but she still wasn't being "seen", because she was still behind another persona. This scene was so incredibly shot, and is the final transformation of Pen from wallflower to confident woman. When I was watching this, I thought maybe she would let LW go, but I realize that Colin's love is only half of who she has become. She needs to be, and can be, both.

It's not due to a "contractual dispute" it's delayed to Sunday June 30, 2024 because Thurs, June 27th is the Presidential debate. No contest to those attending election this year.

I love her response! She is a very talented young actress and also very beautiful. I love her transformation in the last season where the character got to choose her own clothing and that only enhanced her natural beauty. I have to sort-of disagree that there aren't comments like that made about men, though. When a character is so sexualized like that, you do see comments about men, although maybe not as often as they're made about women. Look up the things said about the actor who plays Lasher in the series Witches of Mayfair. He's not the typical body type that people would expect for that character. However... I have to say that I'm not impressed with the writing for that series and it may have done a disservice to that actor. Bridgerton was so well done, script and acting!
